Seems like Magnuson should have gotten this right by now. I bought a Heartbeat for my C6 Vette when they first came out. The kit came with an LSA IAT sensor. But, it wasn't scaled right in the tune. It read LOW instead of high like you guys are seeing. I occasionally saw IAT's that were actually below ambient.
Once I got it scaled right, they seemed to be spot on. Before starting up after sitting a day or two, IAT's and ambient temps were always the same or within a degree or two. Mine runs 12-15 degrees over ambient at cruise. At WOT, it will go up another 15 or 20 degrees. I like how fast it recovers. Pretty impressed with the intercooler system as is. I'm at mid 600's for power. It may need more help if you're pushing it harder. I haven't been there....yet. |

Is the install pretty straight forward? Will I need a re-tune?

Pull it out put the new sensor in, in reality you shouldn't need to be re-tuned but thats not always the case if someone has mucked around with things in the tune file, it wouldn't be a bad idea to talk to your tuner mention the issue and the solution of changing the sensor and ask if he is comfortable with your driving it or if he should take a look at things to make sure it is safe.

I received my new sensor. So my plan is to unplug my battery and then go from there to replace the sensor. The sensor is located on the side of the HB right?
