The tire is really the limiting factor here since it will only allow so much braking torque before traction is exceeded.
+1

I should note I've been running Trofeo Rs lately, and will use MPSC2 during the next one.

Has anybody run ST47's up front with either ST43's or ST45's in the rear with stock Brembos? it's clear that I'm going to have to replace either the front or rear pads so the option is either raybestos or hawk.

I did try ST47/ST45 and ST47/XR2. They both worked fine.

I run ST47 front (6-piston) and ST45 rear, and no complaints. The braking power with these exceeds tire traction, even with warm 305 Trofeo R on Z/28 rims.

With OEM 4 piston brakes I think ST47/45 Or DTC70/60 would be good.

Thanks, guys. I'll try one or the other depending on pricing and should get better with modulating the pedal with more seat time. I might tune my VSS revs per mile to match the new tire diameter but I doubt that will alter ABS.

Unfortunately, I don't think we can alter the ABS programming. It would be amazing, but I have not heard of anyone offering an update to ABS programming. This might also be due to the fact that it would be very hard to test the changes if you're not sure what you're doing. Due to reasons like this, it's sometimes best to just get the best version of the car (Z/28) instead of merely getting its parts like tires, wheels, aero, etc.

Since 1LE comes with square tires with good traction, I'm sure its ABS programming is also revised. Hopefully you'll have less issues with it (like ice mode) when compared against a regular SS.

The abs cal is locked and to my knowledge has not been unlocked for tuning. If you have a GM laptop you have the keys to the ABS kingdom.

In case anyone comes across this thread with the same issues, here is a good thread about the ST47's on corvetteforum. Some guys were having ABS issue with these pads simply because the initial bite was greater than comparable pads, such as the DTC-70, and was activating ABS sooner than they were used to. Different cars/brakes but I'm sure it has some relevance.
