This Thread Is Worthless Without Pics! (couldn't find the smily)

Honestly, it would be nice to have some pics, even poor cell phone pics, to help understand the problems.

Bad primer ?

I remember back in the mid 80s GM had a real problem with paint flaking and peeling. They did a hood, roof and trunk repaint. They actually did a better than factory job. It may be a similar issue. The better dealers will OK the fix.

Not my pic, but it looks exactly the same.

I know we have some GM workers in here, maybe they can bring this to the top attention to have the problem cars repainted, and the ones coming off the line checked. It might be the paint supplier.

I would spend some time finding all the threads with the same problem and then send the Dist. Rep the links. I know there is a member here with a yellowcar who had the same problem and it was covered by GM.

I wonder if in some cases, GM is assuming that the car owner has used a power washer and point blank full-blasted the crevices in an attempt to get dirt and grime out even where none exist. With enough washer pressure, blasting those crevices will result in chipped paint. Hard for GM prove though.

I did this exact thing. I printed out pictures and what not. My dealer gave them to the rep, and the rep said that I will need to wait a month so that he can see my car in person. So, another month with this paint debacle I guess??

I saw the Camaro with VIN 2G1FC1EV8A9101962 had the same problem.

I believe member jrhaus76 had this problem and is getting it fixed by his dealer.

Umm.. okay? I already did, and was told to wait a month until they can see it.

When you make a statement like "Don't let them tell you its not" what do you expect me to do? Bring a weapon in to the dealership? I can tell them 10 times that it's covered and still be told to wait.

I'd love to be proactive on this but the "man" who makes the calls isn't local.

They already "touched" mine up. It doesn't look bad. However, I want it factory fresh. That's what I paid for.

That's bull shit. I hope you don't let them get away with just touching it up.
When my dealer fixed my wifes, no problem They knew this was a problem and said they already painted a couple other ones.

Get your owners manual out and call the 800 number for GM located near the back of the book. I used this number after I bought my GTO when the pressure plate broke after 296 miles and the dealership had the car for almost a month. I will not go into details about the specifics, but after the call it did help get things rolling and I got a decent compensation from all the complaints.
