maybe you can trade it in for a bare bones 1ss. You will take a small hit on the trade in but that will be your best bet.

That's the heat shied you want in a CAI... but I'd never spend $500 on that personally....
The Airaid is going for about $330.... wait a month and save the money (IMO)

Hennessey's CAI

I just got an e-mail from the Sales Rep at Hennessey for the AIC you have above (they sell both; theirs and the Airaid) and he told me that dyno testing has theirs at about 5hp gain, but in tests on the track have yielded results at about 15 hp gain. I have another e-mail to him now to see how that compares to the Airaid. More to come...

You may want to get in on this group buy for the Airaid. Claims a 11+ HP gain.

I had nitrous in my other car and found it the probably worst hp mod you can do for a car unless its just for racing but daily driving you cant use nitrous unless you want to blow your intake off your motor from puddling, I dont even count nitrous as a real mod its just a gimmicky thing in my opinion but the other mods sound good

if you have puddling then you aren't doing some thing right... N20 is AWESOME when done right and done at the track! As you pointed out it's not for the street and illegal to be used on the street in most states... But at the track the instant torque is simply incredible and quite the rush!!! LOL!

100 shot on my V6 Mustang... 400+ Ft/lbs of Torque is NOT "gimmicky"... LOL!

Even with a heat shield it's not going to address the issue with heat soaking the MAF/IAT sensor..

I've been working with Scott at MRT... we relocated my IAT Wednesday and it looks very promising... You know how your car feels more alive on those nice cool mornings? I have that all day long now! LOL!

Small hit? My 2LT w/auto, sunroof may get me $25k-26 on a trade, just a guess. A stripper 1SS at MSRP goes for $31k. A 5-6K loss is not small for me.

I'll keep my 1.5 second slower 6 banger with all the goodies thank you.

I see that someone here did a sixty in 5.6. It maybe just one second slower with a few tweaks.

I'd be careful not to under estimate V6 cars, they may surprise you.

Adding N20 to this car would definitely result in a change in my marital status!!!

Hopefully I can get all my data and stuff together this weekend and will perhaps finish my writeup...

Some of the detail is in this thread: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=42957
