I'm also considering using small plastic threaded knobs and well nuts to mount the rain tray.
I would be interested as well if it does get made. Group buy? lol

BTW I think the part # for your hood insulation should be 23152819

I picked up the knobs from Lowe's. They are 5/16-18 thread. Found the plastic inserts in a local hardware store. Same thread. They are intended for furniture legs so that you can install feet or casters. On my mounting plate I had to open up (drill) the 6 holes larger. I then heated the area around he hole and pushed them in. The ribs on the plastic insert deform slightly and take a set once cooled. This insures they won't rattle out and fall. I originally used plastic push pins. But proved harder to insert when reinstalling the tray.

You should really use a rivnut for that application. Those plastic ones aren't designed for applications with vibration and will eventually fall out.

Maybe. But I can tell you they were hard to insert. The heat helped the ribs distort enough that they created an undercut on the topside. I really think they are secure. But yes rivnuts would be the ultimate. I'll let everyone know if they fall out.
