I think its also worth it just because you can say, "I have an RS/SS Camaro", which is a priceless feeling.

I hate to burst everyone's bubble, but since we're getting opinions on this topic, here's mine. On a SS the RS package isn't worth the money, since most of the items are already standard.

As for the HID's THEY ARE A GREAT FEATURE, but not worth just the price of the RS package. You can get HID kits for around $300, give or take, from aftermarket places.

I forgot to mention, if you're getting an LT, go with the RS package, it dresses up the car a lot.

A voice of dissent that I have to agree with... with a few more things to consider from my experience.

I had to make a decision on getting the car in Aug with one less feature, the RS package, or waiting essentially until next year for the SS/RS I had on order because of winter.
The "I gotta have it now" arguement won and I have no regrets about buying the 2SS sans the RS package on an IOM. The SS badging has already been altered to my tastes with black inlays so really just the drip mold and missing Halo's tip people off, and only those that really know the car. I've been out to numerous cruises and car shows and aside from other owners, not one person has noticed the missing RS features; they all just ask if it's a V8 or say "I see it's a "SS" so it's a V8, right?"

BTW, The $1,500 I didn't spend on the RS package went to a new SLP LM II Axle-back exhaust and the beautiful custom painted stripes I have with only about $200 more out of pocket. The car sounds and looks twice as nice as the stock alternatives and since that's money I wouldn't have had otherwise, way better bang for the buck as far as my satisfaction, from the drivers seat. Lastly, the midnight silver wheels... with a 2LT/RS sitting right next to me, most thought the wheels were dirty. Even an other Camaro owner, when asked, thought the polished wheels looked better and he had the RS package.

IMO...it's worth it. The HIDs are cool and functional. Painted drip rails make the car look "solid" with color. "4 pack" looks cool and gives you a good idea how everything is running(temp and pressure). I prefer the small spoiler on the truck...stylish but not overdone...

Yup...do the SS/RS

I think the RS package is worth every penney! Although I love the HID headlights like the others, I also love the midnight silver wheel finish and the darker tail light lens. Both give a nice touch to the car!

The unpainted drip rail on CGM does not stick out at all, looks fine.

The RS package is cheaper with the 2SS model... So the value added vs. cost is the same for all models.

Halos are MORE than worth it....

First off the kit is $1,200 on a 2SS not $1,500.
Second, any aftermarket HID kit you find for $300 are just overly bright bulbs marketed as HIDs, like you see on Civics, they are not properly projected and blind people.

For me it's worth the look. Really it comes down to personal preference and or budget. I don't get rid of cars though. I drive them till they are ready to fall apart like the blues mobile. So for me I loaded the car up and hope to be cruising in it in 30 years. I'll drive it my moneys worth

I vote against the RS package. I actually prefer the normal halogens in my 1SS. The roof ditch molding is a non issue in my IBM, since it is so dark. It's also a non issue in Black and CGM

SS/RS sounds much better than just being an SS, I think of when I watch Barrett Jackson and they have a 68 SS/RS come across the block and I'm like wow, so just think in 25-30 years from when you can say I own a 2010 SS/RS, I just think that sounds so much better and the HID's are awesome.

YES!!!

The Camaro takes on a totally different look and personality and is more pronounced based on color you get. I have an IOM SS and I have seen an SS without. I am REALLY glad I paid the extra $$ for the RS package. I don't care how you get the $1200, but get it.

Seeing those HID's warm up or driving with the halos only AND having it on my invoice and not adding or hacking or installing it is worth $1200 to me.

If you enroll in a credit union, you can get the GM supplier discount..Well enough to cover the $1200 RS price and maybe another $300 option like a painted engine cover.
