Just go to their website.
As there were around 200 pre-orders, how many emails just from Camaro5 would they get?
Hope they are not reading this, they have returned three from me early on, I don't bother them anymore But my emails from them were professional. They are busy now I sure.

Subject: Intake for 2010 v6 Camaro

> Hello, I've seen on camaro5.com there's testing going on to produce an intake for the v8 Camaros. I'd like to know if you have an intake for the v6 in the works and when will it be available?

email

Just got an E-mail from them took them a week to answer it. I asked the same questions everyone else; Is it available, when will it be if not, you know same stuff this is the answer I got.

We are working on this one next. We are waiting for the production V-8 tooling to arrive. The V-6 will be built from this unit. 3 weeks we should be on the V-6 ,we have logged the V-6 already so it should be done quickly.

Its disappointing after the intial hoopla Vararam seems to have taken many steps back on the V6 development.

I emailed New Era Performance today to see if they were devleoping a Ram Air for the V6 - they said "no" and when I indicated I'd look where Vararam is at in their development I got the following response from Mike @ New Era:

"The PCM you have will result in no power gain after 2-3 drive cycles, it relearns airflow and will close the throttle body accordingly to reduce airflow into the engine after an increase is seen.

So....not to get off topic of the Ram Air here.... but wouldn't the claim on the PCM also apply to CAIs?
Would be curious to see what the vendors would have to say in response....

Feel free to keep me in check if I'm way off here....

OK ...What can be done to make use of the increased airflow ?

Thanks,

I would guess this is a tuneable problem? Assuming the computer is ever cracked, that is.

Sounds like we may have to use the old "fool the temp sensor" trick to get power from the CAI/RAI.... I'll have to look into that method in conjunction with Scremin's relocation of the IAT.

Just have to use a reostadt to adjust the voltage from the sensor. We will need to find out the range of voltage from the sensor cold-hot and series in a reostadt that works in that range (generally 3-9 volts though "CAN" systems run a bit lower). Then you can dial in the engine inlet air temp to suit and "fool" the PCM....

This could also help pass emissions with mods installed.

BTW... with that little IAT logger John has, it should be a cinch to see if it will work.

Also, there is a product out for Ducatis that will adjust the output from the O2 sensor..... another option.
http://www.fatduc.com/order.html

These are not optimum solutions but, with a little dyno time, they could be a suitable substitute till someone cracks the code.... or comes up with a "piggyback" system I.E "Power Commander".

We've been using Power Commanders for years on EFI bikes... This system adjusts the injector timing to control mixture (and ignition timing on some models) via an adjustable "map". Beats re-programing the chip (especially with variable cam timing)!
