I have no choice but to drive on the freeway to get to work unless I want to spend 2 hours getting there and back. So far, knock on wood, there haven't been any problems. I do have rock guards and generally drive in the left lane. Trucks have to stay in the two right lanes around here, so that helps.

Only have 8K miles on the car and once it's paid for I'll get another DD and have this one painted if it needs it, but hopefully not.

Stupid. Cars will get beat up. Do you best with expel, clear bra, re paint, etc. But not driving on highways is ridiculous.

Mine sees DD action, so I can only do so much to prevent bumps and bruises that will happen to anyone

Although this is the only damn car I've ever owned that I felt like it existed just to have rocks hit it's windshield. I broke a windshield like 15,000 miles into ownership and already have another small crack dead center of the windshield after driving through South Carolina when I went to Florida a week ago.

Just buy one of these. I've had mine for a couple of years now for highway trips and it's worked great.

Not stupid at all. Some people like to keep their belongings nice. I DD'd my WRX 40 miles a day on the highway for 3 years before I got a new job, and my bumper is beat to absolute crap. I wish I had something on there to protect it, looking back. All kinds of crap is constantly thrown up at you by trucks and whatnot, so I don't blame him for being more cautious around highways. Anything more than 10-15 miles, and I use my front mask on the Camaro.

+1

The first one really bothered me. The next few, not so much. My car isn't covered with them but there are a couple on the front.

Doesn't really matter where you drive, you'll still get chips, no roads are completely clean of small debris. Mine's a DD and it has a few chips, that's why there's touch up paint to take care of the little chips. I just enjoy driving the car more than worrying about small chips, it's gonna happen....

If I avoid the freeway, it will take me three times longer to get to work.
