Mike did 262kph at the Bromont 3/4 mile on drag radials. I don't see why they are not allowing them. The reason why alot of cars are faster than mine was their tires were drag radials.
If given the choice, I'm bringing them.
The 85 mile per hour thing would be for extended periods of time on the highway.

Seen your post last night and I was curious so I emailed them and this was the response!

Thanks for the email.

They do not have speed ratings so on the street you have to do normal speed limits and at the track it does not matter because you are only going ¼ mile max.

so 1/4 mile, some guys will be doing close to 200mph.
We aren't quite doing 1/2 mile, and will be doing around 160mph and driving for a couple extra seconds.
I don't see how that would be dangerous????

I agree. Being that it is a DOT radial tire that is made for competition you would think it would be the preferred choice.

Since we have to use Z rated tires, I ordered a pair of these.
I'm getting tired of spinning my wheels, these should have some better grip than the goodyears.

Unbelievable, just got an email from RTR, and they will be sending out a notice saying that they will be allowing Drag Radials for this years event.

Yes...for competing in the top speed challenge, but the event is a car show as well and it is only $7 to spectate.

Now, that being said, there is usually a last minute cancellation or two for drivers but there also is a waiting list. If you are interested, you can contact them through the website and see if there are any possible openings.
