I picked up a roll of (faux) carbon fiber tape at autozone. It's cheap and I have enough to do 20 bowties. Just squeegee it on with a little heat then cut off the excess with an xacto knife. Stays stuck and can be removed easily.

It's a rubber coating that sprays on like paint, but once dry can be peeled off much like vinyl.

So you tapped up around the Bowtie and sprayed it with this Plastidip, does it come in a black matte finish, what color did you use,and what was the part number for the color.

If you used my heat gun to dry your hair, you would not have any left! They can get very hot.

Exactly what I did, but with matte black. Was easy and inexpensive.

Never thought I'd plastidip, but I did my bowties and LOVE they way they look now. Really sets the look of the 1LE. Why'd they put gold ties on a car with a black hood, spoiler and wheels?!

Because ford doesn't sell cars with red ovals?

Ok, I know Chevy has used black bow ties in the past, but I actually like the gold.

It produces a matte finish. It comes in a bunch of colors. You can find black at Home Depot or Lowes, other colors aren't as common.
