>> does it get old after awhile driving a stick everyday?

Yes it does. I went with auto. I think age plays a big role here though. When you are younger you think stick is so cool, you can rev the engine and drop the clutch at any time. Pushing the clutch in with your foot and moving the shifter with my right hand actually seemed fun when I was a kid. Once I was out of college it didn't seem so much fun any more in LA traffic. I never sit in traffic and think to my self, damn I long for the days of shifting.

The auto will do just fine for off the line quickness, probably actually beats the stick for much of the run. I don't think I will be getting over 100 MPH on city streets off stop lights. I will never be taking it to a mountain course and racing around corners where stick would come in handy.

But if want stick go for it, it doesn't matter if you have ZERO experience, this is not rocket science. ANYBODY can drive a stick, it literally will take you 10 minutes to learn how. Have fun and get what you want, that's all that matters.

+2

With a car like this just having all control is a great feeling. I've learn stick just so I could buy a M6. I learned in a few months but I had it down the first day..the rest was practice.

I say stick bro. More fun

I just learned how to drive a stick recently to save 1000 on a Camaro. And all i can say is I didnt enjoy driving it much. Seriously, my left ankle joint was exhausted from the stop and go we did.

Not to mention im a big guy and by the time i took my foot off the clutch my knee is over the steering wheel. It was weird. I know how to drive one but I dont enjoy it.

thanks...

I would get a stick if I were you. It's not too hard to learn or at least it wasn't for me but then I grew up on a farm and driving tractors and pickups all over the farm. I have an automatic myself but it is due to a bad knee and driving in Dallas is no fun or not as much fun when you get stuck in traffic. I do love the fact with an auto that it has a remote start so you can either set things up to be warm or cool when you get in the car.

This is one of those things each owner needs to decide. Just listen to the pro's and con's from everyone and hopefully you can learn the stick fast. You most probably need to practice somewhere safe for a couple of days because you will get nervous on hills with redlights and someone on your ass. Good Luck with whatever you choose.

Ive said it before ill say it again driving a manual is 1000x more enjoyable driving this type of car then an auto.To tell you how strongly i feel about this my local dealer had the same car i wanted in an automatic but the same one as a manual was on the other side of the province that would take half a day to get there guess which one i bought ;o). Honestly the only type of people who i wouldn't recommend driving a manual are some of our older members who have bad knee's or members who's drive to work in medium to heavy traffic using there camaro as a daily driver.

Get a friend to teach you in their vehicle, and borrow it for a few days to see if you like driving it...

Myself, I don't like automatic at all. Even in stop & go traffic I love my manual transmission.

I'll just need to get a non-factory command start

After have rented a manual then going back to a auto...I just hate driving auto...I feel like I have to use the breaks more and slam on them. I feel so relaxed driving manual even in stop and go traffic....I just like being in control of the gears...I feel more safe...plus in a car like this you really do have more fun IMO.

The only thing that had me on the fence about a auto WAS autostart..forget that lol.

Eiither way its a camaro so fun either way....just more with stick.

And my previous DD was a 98Z28 M6, bought new in 98 retired when I got the 2010, oh she has 245,000+
and glad she was manual too!

And I drive mine daily 80 miles round trip, about 60% hiway and 40% city.
