Most detail sprays are fine. As long as they do not contain any carnuba / wax.

Silicone or teflon sprays also work OK.

If you're going to try polishing them, I'd suggest testing it out on the back stripes first, polishing in the direction of the stripes, and doing it on a small, inconspicuous spot first.

I believe that to be me i used Zaino CS (Clear Seal), it has been on for about a month now no issues what so ever. in fact I believe that it helpw with water spots that do not appear now on them. I have two coats about 2 weeks apart on them. I will be putting a coat of Z-5 pro on this weekend. I doubt I will use this on the stripes as the CS works great!

Okay, so for matte black stripes use a detailer spray that does not contain any wax in it, right??

I use the Adams detail spray and then follow with the buttery wax like you. Works great and looks very nice but not too shiny.

I use the Adams Clear Polish on my matte stripes. I thought I read somewhere, can't find it right now, that real wax and sealers are actually bad for the vinyl and will cause it to dry, fade and peel?? I may not be correct but don't want to take any chances. Obviously how long the actual exposure to the sun is on a daily basis will have big enfluence. Maybe someone can better explain or clarify this....

Personally, I wouldn't wax them. I would mask off the edges, if you get the edge of the tape just barely over the edge of the stripe, you won't be missing much of the paint.

If you insist on waxing them, I've heard people have had success with things like Adam's Clear, Turtle Wax ICE, and Rejex. You should be fine as long as you're not using a Carnuaba paste or anything containing carnuaba. Use more of a synthetic sealant.

I have been using this on my matte black stripes since April. This stuff cleans them to perfection. Puts a coat of protection on stripes.

The back of the bottle says: Gently cleans all plastics without scratching. Leaves a lustrous shine that resists fogging. Repels dust and eliminates static. Protect against smudges and scratching.

Suggested Uses: Plastic windows & windshields, autos, boats, planes, motorcycles, stereos, TV's computers, appliances, auto interiors, vinyl surfaces, chrome bath accessories, fiberglass, marble, all industrial & household plastic.
