Same thing happened to me a couple times. But hasn't happened since. I never figured out why either.

I have been dealing with this also on and off for years now.
The last time I was traveling.
I opened the drivers door, and reached in at the wire harness, unplugged it,
and put it back on.
It stopped the dinging, but I had to re-index my windows.
All was well for 2 yrs and it just recently did it again.

Wish GM had an answer for this. Very annoying.

Yeah, if it is heavy enough not to turn off the airbag, it's going to ding.

Sometimes when a battery goes they go quick. Sometimes you can tell that it is cranking a tad slower than normal and it is on its way out. When my wife's car battery went, the last time I was in it before it happened I asked her if she thought it was taking longer to turn over. (it was winter time so it's going to crank slower in freezing temps anyway). Of course she doesn't pay attention. A week later and it needed a new battery.

yeah. car was running fine for 30minutes. Stopped to get gas, filled the car, got back in and it wouldn't even turn the motor.
