I thought about the yellow door and dash trim - but I think it may be too little - thereby standing out like a sore thumb - hence the seat covers, steering wheel cover and shifter knob too. and maybe some yellow bow tie floor mats... But then I worry it may be too much....

Not to disregard the appeal of the black interior which has started to grow on me.

Im going to keep mines basic black when it comes (hopefully this weekend). I do plan on adding "RS" to the headrest as shown in this thread

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31141

Besides that mod though, I think the all black interior looks excellent, especially against the ambient lighting!

If I was torn, I wouldn't do it. Try to find some pics of the interior how you're planning to do it.

I'd say go for it. I also got a Rally Yellow 2SS, and I want to switch the panel/dash trim/stitching color to yellow. I even want to paint the gauge cluster yellow. Pretty much everything they painted red in the Pedders Revolution car i want to paint yellow in mine

I look at other sports cars for interior color inspiration
Lamborghini Gallardo

Porsche 911 Turbo

Aston Martin Vantage V8

Here is a before / after which I have photo-shopped. It isn't exact, but close enough. (Sorry to those who actually have artistic talent in the photo shop dept. )

I'm still uncertain if I want to proceed. I do know that if I do I would use covers instead of re-leather. (easier to undo if I don't like and it also protects the leather)

My wife pointed out the fact that the trim lighting around the door panels looks better on black than it would on yellow - and if I swapped out the lights for yellow tones then they would not match the lights on the rest of the instruments. I am now leaning towards leaving it black. I would still value your opinions and input.

a very successful salesman once told me"black always sells". we were talking about motorcycles, but i think it works for everything, interior, exterior, etc. maybe some mods that would be easy tochange back.i went back and forth on ext. color because i didn't want the chore of black upkeep; but i think anything else would've gotten old pretty quick,no offense to anyone, they all look great;i'm just partial to blk/blk.

That was actually my first thought after reading your post. You can always change the ABL color but then you're clashing with the guages and getting into a bigger project than you prbably wanted to. Maybe you should paint the panels black and look into getting the yellow stiching like someone else mentioned. I think that would be different and stand out while still being tasteful.

Have those door panels painted the body color... I'm going to do that on mine... Victory Red.... I'm not sure about that strip across the dash...... I've see pics of the coverking neoprene and they certainly look like they fit snug.... they will send you samples of the material ... the red was not as bright as I hoped... but with neoprene you'd lose your seat-heating ability! I'm going to price out what it would be to replace the center panels of the seats with red .... and I saw a leather wrap for steering wheels with black & red and I want that... I'm sure you could also have it made in yellow & black... that would look sharp!

If I were you, I'd paint the interior trim panels (which would currently be silver) to match your Rally Yellow exterior. That would tie in the colors well, without making it too much. It would also be cheaper to do that, and see if its enough yellow for you, versus getting a custom interior, and maybe doing a little too much.

Sometimes less is more. The white stitching adds more then enough for me. The only thing it needs is the RS on the head rest if u have a V6 model.
