Even though I hate those shopping "reward" cards, they make little ones that go on your key-ring. I had one on a set of keys that I left on my wife's bumper and they were eventually turned in at the store on the tag. It was in the next town but I was happy to get them back! I had a nice little pocket knife and my remote start for my other car on it. The store looked it up and let me know they had them.

Did you just get a blank key or a fob with a blank key? As yours is a '15 what programming procedure did you use ?

I bought a key fob. The locksmith cut it, then I programmed it. You can do the programming procedure yourself only if you have an existing programmed key. What you need to do is put the programmed key in the ignition, start the car let it run for about 10 seconds and then shut it off. Immediately pull the programmed key out, put the newly cut, unprogrammed key in the ignition and start the car. Let the car run for about 30 seconds and the car will program the key for you! I was very skeptical of this, as I looked it up on YouTube. But after doing myself it was extremely easy.

Saw a lot procedures saying not to start the car with the old key but rather just turn the old and new key to the ON position. Good to know it worked your way BTW did you happen to see key count on the DIC after programming the new key?

I bought my third switchblade through the dealer who ordered it from GM pre-cut for $85.

Reach out to Maureen at Rodgers Chevrolet, they can take care of it.
I don't believe it can be programmed without the vehicle. The car has to learn the code of the key, not vice-versa.

Since the OP found his original he can program a new key himself.
But it would be in his best interest to have the dealer delete the second key that he never received.
