We can make the Yellow Jacket CF unit right now, but the cost is pretty high due to the carbon fiber parts. They are made for Halltech by the folks that make all the carbon fiber parts for Pratt & Miller's C6.RS Corvette, Halltech's Super Bee and Super Beehive; GM Racing C6.R parts inside and out, and now the GM Racing GT2 bodies and panels.

The cross link poly units should be in production in 25 days. Heat shields will be included in both builds.

Score Card so far with four units sold:

Our Camaro: Bone stock Camaro SS LS3 +14 RWHP/10.6 lbs-ft over the stock intake
Customer JP: Camaro with a Maggie onboard: 627hp and 655torque (just received the numbers; more tuning today. Video later today.
Customer Rick: Previous SuperFlow dyno 386 RWHP with Hennessey, ARH headers, high flow cats, and exhaust. Just swapping out the intake with the Halltech Yellow Jacket (no tuning on this car yet) it picked up 14 RWHP and is not over 400 RWHP. The shop is up in Appleton WI, and the tuner is a real pro, so hopefully we'll see some nice numbers with just bolt ons.
Customer MH dynoed his Camaro with a Cam, Headers, tuning and the stock GM intake vs. our Yellow Jacket: His own words this morning:
Quote:
The intake looks and runs great. Put it on the dyno and picked up over 34 hp, from stock air box with cam and headers; 455.42 hp to the rear wheels.
The 116% MAF code sweep was right on.

A copy of the dyno graph is attached with under the hood picture. We let off at 6,500 RPM, before it hit the rev limiter, on the first pull.
I'll post this dyno later today.

Four dynos done by independent shops all over the USA, and none saw less than 14 RWHP with the best at 34 RWHP where the car was set up with a cam and headers, exhaust.

Thank you sir. We try to make everything perfect as if it is going on our own Camaro, since it is.

404/410 with Halltech's Yellow Jacket and American Racing Headers

The bolt on only Camaro in Appleton, WI just reported 404/410, and still being tuned.

Halltech Yellow Jacket (tuning version), ARH headers, HF cats, and exhaust only.

This is the Halltech Yellow Jacket CF without the optional 102mm MAF housing. If you have a stock Camaro, and do not want to tune your car, stay away from this intake, and wait until our production plastic version arrives for $399. Heat shields are included on both styles.

We got 14 RWHP/10.6 lbs ft. on our stock Camaro with our prototype plastic version. Tentative release date 11-25-09.

This is our CAD drawing. The package will include the high temp silicone hose, PCV nipple, intake tunnel, heat shield and our 8" filter. The 9" touches the fender well, and some may not want this situation. The heat shield will align the intake so that the filter does not touch the windshield washer reservoir; We can include the 9" to replace the 8" at no additional cost if this is not an issue.

Our testing shows that the heat shield allows constant cold air, which keeps Outside air temps and intake air temps within 4 degrees of parity.

Independent Dyno Results for the first 4 Yellow Jackets

Our Camaro. Mods: Halltech Yellow Jacket plastic prototype (no larger MAF, NO tuning)

Our Camaro: Bone stock Camaro SS LS3 +14 RWHP/10.6 lbs-ft over the stock intake on a Superflow Chassis Dyno:

Dyno done yesterday by a customer MH in Baton Rouge LA on his Camaro. The baseline was done with a cam, headers, HF cats, exhaust and tuned for the stock intake. He was driving the car for a while with this setup.

Adding the Halltech Yellow Jacket CF and our Hornet 102mm MAF, he picked up +34 RWHP (don't know the torque) It is my understanding that the only change he made to his program was a 16% sweep of the MAF code for the larger MAF area scaler condition. The relevancy here, is the power increase over the stock intake where mods are added to the platform.

The third dyno was done on a Camaro in Bowling Green, KY owned by JP. He has a Maggie onboard. I do not have the actual dyno yet, but will post it when it arrives. 627 RWHP 655 RWT on a DynoJet with the Halltech Yellow Jacket CF102. That works out to 737 HP and 771 lbs-ft torque at the flywheel with our CAI.

The fourth dyno done was the most interesting. Done in Appleton, WI by Dan Rhodes of MPI. They have both a Superflow Engine Dyno and a Superflow Chassis dyno. The Camaro tested belongs to a Rick, who heard about our stock vs. Halltech dyno and ordered our Yellow Jacket CF102. It was installed by Bruce Melton of Powrmax, who builds engines and tunes cars here in WI.

The results of their first pulls done earlier this year was 386.6/388.2 (best of three pulls) with the Hennessey CAI, American Racing Headers, high flow cats and exhaust. No tuning at all. Since our single mod of the Yellow Jacket made 383.0/385.5 without headers or tuning, the challenge was on to see how much HP our intake would make in this situation, especially after Rick saw the numbers for the Hennessey posted in the shootout.

The result: By swapping out the Hennessey CAI for the Halltech Yellow Jacket bumped the RWHP to 400/410.5. Bruce then tuned the car and picked up 6 more RWHP for 406/410.5. This is an increase of 13.4 RWHP/22.3 lbs-ft. torque before tuning. Data logging with EFI Live on all pulls showed no knock retard on these pulls. All runs were done in the High Octane Timing Tables, with 93 E10 fuel.

American Racing Headers and Halltech like each other, a lot:

Halltech had nothing to do with any of the last three dynos, not even observation. Just reporting the information given to us.

Here is a comparison of Rick's Camaro in bone stock configuration vs. Halltech's Yellow Jacket CF102 and American Racing Long Tube Headers, high flow cats, and HP exhaust. This appears to be a bolt-on marriage made in Heaven. These dynos were sent to Halltech by the Dyno Shop that did the installation of these mods:

Wow can't wait to see the finished plastic product! Quick question though, it is possible to get a CF one without the 102mm MAF if I wanted the CF one without wanting to tune right?

Sorry Halltech, LMR (Late Model Racecraft), not LNR. Teach me to post when extremely tired. So can we see a comparison on HP gained between the two? I know that this one should be lighter because of the CF, but would that affect it that much?
