Anyone have any experience with USAA? I am not as much interested in coverage for my mods, just want to know if they have a clause similar to what SnowyCamaro was saying. I can look it up myself but figured I'd ask here first before I wade through the legal documents

I'm in the insurance industry. I personally have Geico and I have told them about all my appearance modifications so they will pay out for what I've dumped into my car. I however, do not tell them anything about stuff I have done to make more power. You would probably be fine with letting them know you have a cat back but that's about as far as I would go. I know that Geico has lists of vehicles that they associate with being raced and if you have one of those vehicles and you tell them the wrong things they will nonrenew your policy. They assume the worst unfortunately and think you race your car, whether it's on the track or in the streets, they don't care.

Years ago when I spent good money on either exterior mods (wheels) or stereo mods, then I would send the receipts to my insurance company. Luckily I've never had to claim a loss on the mods, but its a good practice to list your investment just in case.
