SLP= no buy!

I know they make some quality pieces, but most of the time they over price everything.

I always find this interesting. People say SLP is overpriced...but almost all their exhaust systems are priced about the same as their competition. I don't think anyone sells a coated, stainless header, and full exhaust system from less than SLP. What's funny is I only really hear these complaints on F-body boards, despite the fact SLP sells a ton of GTO, G8, Mustang, and Dodge stuff. Must be some left over tension from the 4th Gen SS days or something.

Well yes, I would agree with that. They charged high prices then and now everyone knows they can charge pretty much what they want.

Would you call $1400 for headers reasonable?

I wouldnt. Im not happy paying $1000 for headers. Everyone is paying the Corvette tax on the new Camaro and smiling while doing it. Not me. Wont happen, and my car will be every bit as fast as the guys who have to spend the most on their parts to have the "best" parts.

The SLP lid was a good bargin, the bellows was a junk scam, their headers sucked and their Loudmouth was a bargin for 4th gens. Now this gen everyone is charging outrageous prices.

I mean should we pay more for plugs and wires now too? I know some companies that havent jacked up prices just because they could.

I also know I sound like a cheap ass....well I am.

Oh and for the record....axle backs....all of them = scam. Especially the slp loudmouth.

This is why i think you are not right on this and i know of you, With all the respect in the world, This car is the Henry ford of cars there will be a lot of camaro's out this year, More then all the corvettes that was made in the last 3 years and maybe in the last 4 year and next year if things get better in the USA there will be 200,000 made, This is an every guy car on a corvette if you want to sell a lot of parts you need to make it affordable for all the members not only the ones with a lot of $ but the guy that have a hard time holding on to the car or home oryou name it and the woman on here too. At today's price the headers and x pipe and cats from most all most the same as the sails tax on the car.

Too bad its only 409 stainless (at leaast on the headers, not sure about the rest). But the headers do look nice every time I open the hood I smile.

Because you are just buying the name. Axle backs offer no performance gain and you can do the muffler delete for around $100 and it sounds better then most of the axle backs that cost ALOT more. It isnt loud at all and sounds mean. I have it dont to mine and wouldnt even consider anything else.

Now I don't carry SLP a this time (Eventually, just no time lately). Soooo $2700? How about ARH 1 7/8" headers with High Flow Cats & Intermediate crossover pipe + Magnaflow "Race" axle back, ADM Performance "Street" CAI, and a FREE K&N Oil Filter for that price?

$3,500 retail or you can contact us for a package deal.

Paypal anyone?

I think the issue here is you haven't called us yet!

Headers...
Take a look at what stainless Kooks, SLP, ARH, you name it headers for the Mustang run. The only stuff that is under 1,000 is either mild steel, off road only, or an overseas knockoff. The only difference is there are no cheap options yet. I am sure there will be Pacesetters and so forth soon..but they also will be lower quality and plain steel.

With the exhausts..all the SLP stuff seems to also be priced in line with what you would pay for a similar component of the same material and construction for a Mustang. Be glad you don't own a Corvette..a Borla acleback for a Corvette runs over $1000, where the Borla Axleback for the Camaro runs $550..despit not much difference in terms of size.

With this set-up what hp gains would you expect? Have you done a dyno yet with this same set-up?

Please note hp gains with and without tune if possible.

Thanks
