The best thing that could happen to us is to have the allocations go away and the assembly line at full bore. Then we hopefully would have a supply situation that would move in our favor and we could see those 20% deals in September of 18 (likely) that were available last year on the Corvette Z06s.

Happened with my 12 order that had an allocation. I dropped the order and found a 12 on the lot. |

There will be no special allocation process for ZL1's for MY '18 I believe..... but they will be restricted by weekly constraints...... just my opinion.....

Disgusting how bad the purchasing process is for GM Canada and it's franchisee's. Buying my first home was an easier process then trying to get a ZL1
If a customer has money ready they should get a car. All I get from GM and its dealers when asking for MY18 info is maybe's and they don't know. Why are they trying to build urgencies on this car? This is not a GT500 or a Demon. ZL1's were sitting on dealer lots unsold for long periods during launch. The A10, 5-6 month delay didn't help but still, seeing unsold cars sitting collecting dust when people are struggling to get an order placed is not right. Didn't Al Oppenheiser specifically say if you wanted a zl1 youd be able to get one? Here I am sir, with $88,000 ready, insurance a phone call away. I've been ready for 8 months with cash down at a dealeship that could not get allocation, and proceeded to lie to me(MikeJacksonCollingwood) and tell me that they did have allocation, only to find out through GM customer care that I needed to switch dealerships and now I'm 5th in line for a MY18...Everyday I cross shop other cars(GTR,RS3,Hellcat,Corvette) because I dont want to go through the stress/chance of missing a MY18 ZL1 and having another lost summer. Al Oppenheiser/GM Care, please help out a dedicated GM customer spend his hard earned money on your product. Give us the information on MY18 to settle our worries. |

Robotics/computer automation replace jobs everyday.
A lot of office jobs have already been replaced, phone operators, receptionists. Also factory line workers, security guards, farmers, etc. Up next comes retail sales & food workers, including the car salesman. Their job is coming to and end very soon. After that is taxi/truck drivers. Equipment operators of all kinds will decline. The next 10-20 years will be scary job security wise. You will need a real skill to have a job. A job that can't be easily replaced that doesn't require much skill (hungry people will be after your job). Or hope you can adapt and learn a skilled career mid-way through your life. If you are a car salesman right now, dont plan on retiring as one. Sorry, went off topic. |

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but has anyone successfully placed an order for a 2018 yet? I've reached out to 2 local dealers so far and both say they have no pricing and can't place orders yet...yet supposedly no orders can placed for 2017s either. I'm confused!

What about 2018 regular ZL1s? Anyone have an order for one of them in? I'm trying to get a 2018 ZL1 convertible.

I went in two weeks ago and ordered a regular ZL1 for the MY 2018. I stood there and watched the sales manger type my order in, as sold order. Said it was accepted? He also said that they werent strangled by the allocation thing anymore either. Guess we shall see. Never ordered a car before. Hope it arrives before december!
