As long as you put the oil fill cap back on......no.

Matter of fact it helps get rid of heat soak.

Not only does it not hurt the car it actually helps prevent heat soak. Take the second cover off as well and really let the car breathe better.

Bene's.. I've taken my car and my Jeep in for service and twice they've come back with a new cover on the engine.. I guess they think they lost it and they give me another one..
I have three covers for each to customize and hang on the wall..
Pretty sweet....

A lot of dirt comes through the radiator with the rain. It's much easier to clean the cover than all the bits it hides. If that matters to you.

Hell no! Personally, I think it's an ugly POS, the the LS3 looks awesome without it. Took that bitch off as soon as I got the car home. WTF was the designer thinking with that thing?

Those are ugly and the stock covers on my LS2 in my GTO sucked because the driver side rubbed the rubber fuel line . . . some GTO's burnt to the ground because of it and GM did nothing. I replaced the line with a steel braided line and put the covers back on and never had another problem, still were ugly lol

I think it only holds in too much heat - like others have said.

Most of the time they are even called "injector sight shields" and not even engine covers.

Actually it is there for sound suppression of the injectors and valve train. Most all cars today have them.

If you guys can hear the injectors over the sound of piston slap/lifter tick you might have a bigger problem lol

I saw an engine wiring clean up kit awhile ago and have not been able to relocate it, anyone know who it might be from or where to get it? I thought it ran for about $175 or so. Just cleans up the wiring so if you take that cover off, it looks cleaner
