I live next to Berger Chevrolet and heard that HUD will be available in the 2011.
For what it's worth.

I'm kind of in the same boat, I am planning on placing my order in April and hoping for a June delivery, but who knows what'll be available then, 2010 or 2011? I've contemplated on just holding out till June and trying at my luck to get a car with my specifications off of the lot.

you know what the difference between the 10 and 11 will be ... the sticker will say 2011 instead just the next shift will start making it

The 2011 wont be here till at least the 3rd quarter of next year. I doubt their will be many significant changes besides colors. Their may be a few new options but I doubt anything that will make a 2011 much better than a 2010.

Where'd you hear this? I'm just curious because as of right now I didn't think that there had been any official info release on when the 2011's would be released.

I am waiting for the 2011 because I want HUD. I was told by a dealer they would start taking orders in June. How knows maybe some other creature comforts.

I had heard rumor about the HUD as well and the SEMA sneak peek video which some said might suggest new exhaust options. Also, the point made above about GM working out all the kinks. All that aside I have to say I would enjoy owning the first year of the Camaro's come back.

About the cost... two schools of thought seem to be rolling in... will it be considerably more, about the same (small mark up), or less (I doubt)?

Cool I'm getting mine in April as well probably. I'm sure by April they will be much easier to get and at a fair price. The dealerships I've talked to are already getting in cars for their lots, but they are still selling fast. One dealership had 3 SS's sitting out front and not sold. Albeit my area is a little different.

As far as cars coming out around 3Q's dont they usually always come out around the same time each year, especially if they have been in production?

I was also debating on 2010 or 2011. Here are some of the points that I thought about:

Pros for 2010:

1. Camaro is very rare right now and still attracts looks. I drove the Camaro from Avis for 6 weeks in a row (always upgraded) and I got more looks than the usual Porsche's or Corvettes. That too in Los Angeles...No joke! You can thank Transformers for that one!

2. Tax Deduction - If you get your Camaro delivered before the year end, you will qualify for a tax deduction. All n all it might save you about a grand on taxes (depends on your income and sales tax). Sale has to be done before Dec 31, 2009.

3. $500 rebate from GM - Goes till Jan 2, 2010 so that is additional savings.

4. Interest rates are low right now, from what I hear they will go up beginning of new year.

5. Price - As it is the Camaro has already increased in price this year and the dest fees also went up. I am pretty sure that the 2011 will be more expensive.

Cons for getting 2010:

1. The 2011 could include cool features like HUD or perhaps Navi if you are interested.

2. 2011 models will be more refined than 2010, almost every car is.

3. You have no idea if the 2010 models by March will become as popular as the Mustang, which then will eliminate the unique factor that the car has now.

4. Perhaps the dealers will sell it for or below invoice once the craze is over.

Basically it's a personal choice, I chose for this year because of the financial savings. I qualify for GM Supplier, along with the $500 rebate and Obama's tax deduction. All in all I get the car for about roughly $2400 below out the door price with the incentives and Tax deduction.

Additionally you could get a 2010 model once the 2011 cars are out, but thanks to the incentives and tax credit, you can get a decent deal for the 2010 right now.
