I think "never driven in rain" has a nice ring to it when I ever do sell it. The show car guys certainly don't drive their cars in anything other than fair weather. I'm treating it the same

Mine will be in the rain today...

I need to go pick up the Deer we shot yesterday from the process place in the country. Madison is a beautiful drive this time of the year.

Somewhere in the world there must be a G.M. designer muttering to themselves "Son-O-bitch! We put windshield wipers on their cars, weather seals, corrosion protection, leak test these things and some of them still refuse to drive in the rain! Why do I even try!"

My 2010 RS SS is a DD, now the 07 TT vette is another story, 2,622 original miles which includes a 500 mile trip home from Kansas when purchased.

Was there a windshield wiper delete option? I would've gotten it.

Nothing against the folks who choose otherwise, and granted I’m not getting this car to mod up for show, or for what the resale value can be later. I’m getting it for other reasons and can’t/won’t justify making payments and just look at it when it’s raining. Whatever your reason for buying is, it’s a great car for the price and it won’t melt. So I say drive it… drive it often… and (sometimes) drive it fast just because it likes to open up and show off what this Chevy is made of.

If keeping your car dry and protected from the world makes you happy, then more power to you. It’s just that some of the threads indicate (to me) that keeping it protected from the world, or the inevitable door dings cause more stress and anger than enjoyment from having the car. I’m not saying this thread is nearly, or even remotely as dramatic as others. Merely trying to inject some Ying for all the Yang.

The day I give a possession the power to control my behavior is the day I find a new home for it. Me not driving when I want to (behavior) , because a car (possession) will get wet?… guaran-damn-teed not gonna happen. I can buy a new car, can’t buy another day to drive it.

Now I'm willing to keep an open mind, and will change my wicked & heathen ways if anyone thinks this will really work …“Ummmn ‘scuse me, but Yo St. Peter Dude? Yeah man, it’s like this… I was really hurtin’ to take my badass Camaro out one of those days I was there, but it was like almost raining. Kinda misting heavy like ya know? And that makes stuff like.. I dunno… wet ‘n sh**. So like can I give you $50 to go back and re-do that day with better weather? ”

JMO? Drive the car folks… life is short and it doesn’t come with a 5-year/100,000 warranty.

So you are positive that between being manufactured, sitting in the assembly plants lot, the shippers lots, on the truck and to the point of taking delivery that your car has never been rained on?

Not to be a dick, but the chances are pretty good it's seem rain already.

How do you think i felt my car comes off the enclosed trailer in a terrible storm. Rain, wet leaves in the Camaro with me driving is not safe. I had to wait until the following day to drive it was torture!

It rained all day yesterday and I had plans to take a 300 mile trip and I have to put it off. I like to push the car hard but in the wet, Not for me the back end is too loose.

weather all across the board has sucked for the last 12+ months.

yeah, you're not, don't worry. i know it's been rained on before, and definitely on purpose. But I can't control that. I can control it when it's mine. I know everyone's split on driving it in bad weather, but to each their own.

However, being my normal non-SISSY self, I actually took it out today in the mist and got crap all over it from the road--took my fiance to a personal training session and the trainer couldnt' believe I took it out. Neither could I. I detailed it when I returned and it was back in its cover for my week away from it again. Less of a chance I hit a puddle and hydroplane or some idiot next to me does in the rain. Chances are increased for wrecks in the rain--that's really more of my concern. Someone can hit the hell out of my other car and I won't really care. But driving my Camaro is different. This is a dream car for me and it's a huge investment and I plan on keeping it looking and running it's best for years to come, and I don't enjoy driving it in the rain. I'm keeping the miles low anyway. Driving it every day wears out its excitement.

I'm happy that there are people who love to drive it in the rain, more power to them. But there are people who don't, more power to them as well. We all own Camaros, that's the main thing.
