I guess PA is less costly of all the states and Canada. $35.00/year for any car and $86.00 for PU truck.

Yes, but it goes down each year. When you initially register your vehicle in Nevada it is based on the price you pay; after that it is based on the value of the vehicle. When I bought my Corvette new in 2006, registration was almost $900; now it's the cheapest vehicle I register at under $300

For some reason my 5 year old Camaro is more than my one year old 3/4 ton 4 door 4 wheel drive diesel truck in Texas. Maybe it's the diesel part. Both are around $80.

Texas all vehicles under 6000 pounds is $50.75 plus fees. 6000-10000 is $54 plus fees. Does the Camaro have personalized plates or specialty plates? If so that would explain the cost difference.

No special plates on either vehicle, it surprised me too.

Taking this thread to the next level, how many of you have to pay an annual personal property tax on vehicles in addition to registration? Or excise tax, use tax, whatever your state calls it. Surprisingly in NY we don't have that tax. Hopefully our socialist Governor doesn't find out.

Looks like many states rip you off. Mostly western ones. It'll take me 15-20 years to equal what some of you pay.

Based on value in AZ. My 15 SS was $525 when I renewed last month. My 10 year old SUV was about $100.
We pay more for vehicles but we benefit with lower property taxes than many areas. Heck, my mortgage is less than a friend was paying for just for property tax each month in NJ. I'll take the once a year hit on the cars. |
