I know a couple of people who got this car in the summer and have had nothing but problems with it. Better to wait. Plus, I can cross shop it with the 5.0 Mustang when it comes out next spring.
lame

not everyone has probs.. a handful out of 50,000

be real..

get ya new pony car ..bet ya wont be problem free man..

doubt it..

yea it s a first run, bound to be a few glitches, I usually never EVER do this.. but I had to & Im 150% satisfied.

I bought my 07 Silverado Blind, 09 Traverse Blind and the 2010 Camaro blind. BY choice on those last 2 .. but very happy..(blind=no test drive)....

That's a great car for what its built for and very solidly put together. My parent's Impala really surprised me and is on par with the Camry and Accord as far as build quality goes. That's why I'm dissolussioned by these stories of recent Camaro buyers having so many mechanical issues.

I think the 5.0 Mustang won't have as many problems as you might think because they have been working on and developing that coyote engine a long time and are not re-inventing the car from the ground up.

I doubt it.

Basically the same body, chassis, and components, with an improved track pack, brembos and the 5.0 engine. The 6 speed manual, I'm guessing, is probably coming from the Shelby GT500. So that is not a completely new piece to the driveline.
BUT its new to the Mustang..

Regardless, I won't make a final decision on either car until I take both of them out for a long test drive. I particularly want to take the Camaro SS out for a longer than usual test drive to see if I get that annoying rattle in the dash sound that everybody complains about.
Rattle.. I have no rattle.

Maybe I'll have to test drive 3 or 4 of them to be sure. BTW, isn't it true that GM is trying to fix as many of these problems as possible during QC before shipping them to the dealers?
true
Is it possible that if I get a much later vin number 2010, that alot of these issues will be resolved in a more recently built Camaro?
Pretty much I have no issues.....

All boils down to what you have had or like..Mustang- Camaro.?.. me Camaro all the way sorry.

BUT I like all muscle cars.. just informing you on some things

And price/power comparison. a GT aint a SS . Period.

Hopefully the 5th gen Camaro doesn't overheat in traffic like both of my previous 4th gens. It's something I got accustomed to, but would like to avoid if possible.

I live in Texas and owned two 4th gens (one LT1 one LS1), and never had overheating problems. Mine would get "hot" (230 or so), but not "overheat".

The only times I saw a 4th gen overheat , was from the thermostat going bad or the temperature sensor failing as well.

The plus side on the 5th gens is they have an open grill directly to the radiator.Gone are the times of needing a baffle under the car to direct air up to the radiator.A problem from which the 3rd gen suffered as well

I misused the word 'overheat'. My 4th gens got hot in traffic, but quickly cooled down when traffic started to move and/or I turned on my A/C. The main gripes I had about my 97 Z28 was the hump in the passenger floorboard and getting hot in traffic, which the 2010 apparently does not.
