I went with the spec in the manual.

Did anyone else have issues filling the tranny with the new fluid? I thought I could force a bottle up there like I did with the differential, but it was a NO go :( I'm glad I had my mityvac brake fluid pump! I used it to suck out the new oil and pump it into the tranny. Worked like a charm!

Both take a 3/8" ratchet to remove the 2 plugs - drain/fill. If you have the stock exhaust, pretty simple to change the diff fluid. Unless someone else didn't have the tranny issues, I found NO way to get the new fluid in! I had to use my brake fluid pump to get it in, which worked great! I suggest getting an oil pump with a flexible hose. Otherwise, it was very straightforward.

Good luck!

Differential Torque: 24 lbs; not sure on the tranny.

You're welcome!

I am confused on how the manaul is telling me this. Do I mix 29.5 oz of Lube with 2.5 oz of friction modifier to equal exactly one quart? Or does the manual want me to fill the entire diff with one quart of lube and then add the 2.5 oz. I would hate to start this little project, and then to find out my new fluid is overfilling and dripping onto the floor. Thanks.

You can't overfill it as it will just pour out the fill hole. Looks like 1.1 qts according to the above - with a limited slip diff. Anyway, just put the friction modifier in first, then fill the rest with the diff oil until it comes out the hole then clean up the excess and plug it...

When I changed mine, the total capacity was 1 qt. I had a litte gear lube left over (about 2.5 oz.)

Put the 2.5 oz. frict. mod. in first then top off until it overflows. Put plug in, torque and smile.

I need some help I have 5300 miles on my car but I didn't read my manual( I know shame on me) but I haven't changed the differential or the transmission fluid either , how bad is this? And do I have to go to chevy to get it done? Or can I take it to where I normally go for oil changes? Any help is appreciated
