I know the E2 and E2-X are bigger is that in length or width?
I have a LFX bracket on my standard can. So will that fit the E2. I was thinking of updating to a to a E2. Thanks Peter ![]() ![]() ![]() This is it now.

The E2X is not really necessary unless you have a pressurized intake environment like with forced induction. The original E2 catch can or the E2X with just one suction source enabled and the clean side separator installed is all you really need.
The one way check valves will be good if you run WOT all the time. However, I have the original Elite E2 catch can with single suction source and the Elite clean side separator installed and my intake tube and intake manifold are pristine clean. And, I do go WOT at least once or twice or three times or more when driving each time as well. Like I stated before, don't spend any more money than you really have to. |

From another Forum member I have a complete GEN5 stock air box coming, that will be the one I modify, want an extra just in case I screw something up. I believe instead of drilling and trying to thread the "thin" walls of the air box I am going to go with a rubber grommet. At a parts store today I found several that was extra rugged and will hold the elbow tightly. Will post pictures once completed.

Having the cold air kit with a bung in place sure does make life much easier. With all the money I have spent on gas and parts I probably could have added just a few dollars and purchased a cold air kit. LOL. Has been sort of fun but really nice to message back and forth with other members.
My problem from the onset was that there is no real good directions for the installation of the Elite E2-X kit. It took a number of emails and PMs to figure it out. For this I thought I would take some pictures of what I done, reason two fold, make sure I got it right and secondly to help others out. There is "NO QUESTION" regarding the quality of Elite Engineering's product. Really outstanding, quality and workmanship is second to none. Directions on the other hand is kinda sketchy. Maybe we all can help them out. It's worth it though!

From another Forum member I purchased a complete air box so that I would have a spare just incase when I started drilling holes I would have a back up when I said "oh shit"! Well the project went as planned so "I now have an extra LFX air box assembly (complete)
With advise from Gringo I decided I would drill the hole and add a rubber grommet and then install the 45 degree elbow into the tight fitting grommet. With out question the elbow is more secured than if you just drilled and threaded the relatively thin air box elbow. I did use another "one way valve" between the "catch can" and the air box intake elbow. I will add a couple of pictures so you can see how it came out. I want to thank everyone for all the advise and ideas while I was trying to figure this project out. Larry
