Depends on who you talk too... the exhaust companies will say they do... the CAI companies will say they do...

I don't think anyone here has really done an independent dyno of a CAI kit... at least not that I'm aware of...

Screamin, what is your opinion on x pipe vs h pipe?

Is it worth adding the x-pipe to the MRT axle back system?

CAI hands down. Far less expensive too! I sell and install both.

Good question. I am curious too. The thought of making my version 1.0 MRT "more aggressive" is a little scary lolol. It already strikes fear into the hearts of higher HP cars running stock exhaust.

Do you have proof that you get more HP/Torque from a CAI than you do a cat-back exhaust? I mean some kind of independent testing, not just manufacturers claims?

I haven't thought about it much... Maybe something to look at.... I know in the V8 world most guys go with and prefer an H-pipe....

In case you missed it...I sell AND INSTALL BOTH! I don't go off manufacturer claims. I buy it, try it, and send back the junk. Just because I CARRY the manufacturer (literally 100's!) doesn't mean you will see me supporting them openly. I've driven and tuned multiple cars. I use my A$$ dynometer and customer satisfaction to determine the results. No dyno queens here to help sway the results. CAI should be your first mod, period!

CAI purchase: Buy Roto-Fab or ADM Performance, you won't be disappionted!

__________________________________________________ _____________

It all depends on the Axle-back & the Air Intake!........

I have the MRT Exhaust & the Airaid Intake. What I found after over 3 dozen 0-60mph tests, it is VERY close.... If I had to choose I would say the MRT gave me faster times.
The reason I can't say 100% is it is very hard to get the temp.,humidity & the Bar. Pres. all 100% the same.. ( so the DA is not 100% the same)

As far as calling the intake a COLD air intake, Most are NOT!..You First need a 100% sealed box to start with.
The stock intake is MORE of a COLD air intake then most of the others!!

What the Intakes are is #1...Less Restrictive (filter)... #2... Better flowing (larger Dia. tube, no resonator & maybe better bends)

Who said anything about dyno queens? Dynos are great tools and are much more accurate than your A$$, no matter how carefully your A$$ is calibrated!

If you are so against dynos for showing gains, then where are your time slips? Have you driven an V6 Camaro at the track yet?

As far as i know Roto-Fab or ADM aren't available for the V6 yet.. but I haven't checked lately...

And actually the FIRST MOD for this car should be a tune/tuner... It's a mod that you can then build all your other mods on... Best bet is to do exhaust now and then wait for a CAI/Tuner combo...

How do you do a tuner and where can you get a tune done right?

I have to say, one aids the other. When I added my SOLO PERFORMANCE system on my LS3 I can actually feel the amazing difference in the flow. Now that it is flowing so well out the back with the X pipe, I feel the need for more air up front. I am looking at a CAI now, haven't decided yet.
