You should be able to see threats with your eyes, not your windshield. This is great technology, but I wouldn't pay for it because I use my eyes to see.

As long as this had an On/Off switch, Id pay for it! This would be ulitmate HUD...Think of it like added insurance, When you out for a late night drive, and there was an option for Road Edge/Wild Life/ and Cross Hairs for Rustangs...You could have some serious fun! (I.e. Moon light driving)

Nice, but a waste of money and resources, need to be focusing on something else

I don't know about some of you, but I find it pretty hard to see the road in fog and heavy snow storms. As I understand it, this system is to help you see when you otherwise couldn't.

I've had the younger drivers tell me, "He got out of the car saying he's not sticking around to wait for police and to just call the damn insurance." I've even had one elderly person tell the other driver, "I'm sorry I can't stick around, but I've got to get to BINGO." I swear....I was floored! Three nights ago, my district partner took a HNR and the elderly guy told the other driver he had better things to do than waste his time waitng for police. Well, after tracking him down, plenty of denial, and the guy finally understanding that we have no problem with arresting elderly folks too, he finally gave it up saying what happened and finally handed over his insurance. I've even had some elderly who didn't want to exchange info since they didn't want their insurance carrier to drop them. Seriously, some of these older folks I work around.....umph... |

No offense to those who may be handicapped, but I think handicapped people must be the worst parkers/drivers ever! Most are probably really old too i realize but come on, they get an extra wide spot with a walkway connected to it and they park halfway in the spot and walkway usually waaayyyyy crooked. They also block the whole street waiting for a spot ughughugh, sorry just had to rant a bit. Tag those old people stories are crazy, they think they can get away with anything just because they're old! |

^I am in no way saying all old people are like that. I am saying I've dealt with a lot of elderly people who think like that. Some of those just have that mentality.
We have a lot of younger folks who do HNR's too. The worst place is the shopping mall area. People try parking and hit other cars all the time. They get out, look at the damage, and walk off. I've seen them happen and of course, the person replies "I was just looking for an officer!" as they were walking off to go shopping when I stopped them. |
