Another guy on here I think his name is JRS put exhaust augers in his straight pipe and it eliminated the drone. Around a $30-40 fix. Search the word Auger and you can find the post and sound clip.

you sure you don't have an exhaust leak? i have that set up and I don't get any drone at all.

Same here, 16 ss muffler delete, no drone. In fact while cruising the car is just about as quite as stock which really surprised me

Do you guys with muffler delete and zero drone have hills where you live? I drove my 5th gen through the Mountains on the way to the East Coast and the Drone was deafening with the stock exhaust. I think in general Auto's will Drone more than sticks too since the Auto's spend more time at lower RPM's. I have never met anyone that shifted as early as an Auto does at least...

Look into Helmholtz resonators! They will demolish the drone and keep the car loud with a refined sound. Currently my 16 ss had kooks long tubes with off road pipes, Borla x pipe, no mufflers, and 2 Helmholtz resonators and I have 0 drone at cruising speeds. I can whisper to my passenger

Im getting ready for a muffler delete but am worried about drone. I was looking at either the flowmaster super 44's or Cherry bomb Vortex to give it a good rumble but cut down on drone. Im an 18 ss non npp.

Helmholtz/J-pipe. Take your pick. Both are cheaper than buying a brand new system.

I went muffler delete non npp. to me it has little to no drone imo, when cruising and AFM kicks in its super quite. if you just want 'more loud' muffler delete will help with that, I couldnt justify paying 600$ for a axle back on top of what a muffler shop would charge.

I just did a muffler delete on my 18 ss 6 speed, the drone is very bad from 2-3k rpms... I do have npp and I always have it wide open

Your valves are still functional? Mind letting me know what you did? I was looking for a cheap alternative for my NPP system without breaking the bank. Sounds like you got it. I thought it was a use it or lose it situation if we go custom.

We cut the tips off and welded them to y pipes to make them into quad tips.. then just plugged them back in!

Thank you! I did some more research after you posted that and realized it's completely possible. I read another user threw on a Flowmaster super 44 I think and a J-pipe as well to help battle the drone. I'll likely do something similar except with the outlaws.
