I have it on my car, didn't really notice a difference but hey cold air is better then hot air! When I first put it in and I was not tuned (2015 SS A6) the car would surge a little at lights randomly not every time but it would do it.... I tuned the car shortly after and the issue went away.

I do have to agree that obviously bringing in cold fresh air beats hot engine bay air any time. Most people go with the kit from Phastek Performance? Or did others opt for the JRE/ADM? I know all the products are probably very very similar besides maybe the price difference.

They're essentially the same scoop: same construction and same mounting. I have an ADM scoop I picked up off a member here, but I doubt it really matters which one you pick.

Yeah looks like Phastek has a kit for about $116 for the scoop and washer bottle relocate kit. A bit cheaper than the $160 JRE was offering even though the JRE kit includes a Roto-fab relocate kit. Heard with the JRE kit the scoop is unfinished and unless you want to see the silver scoop it's best to paint it black.

I have had it on for years. First with a Halltech Cai, now with rotofab. It seems to make for a bit smoother acceleration, and is noticeable around town when on a hot day. Not much, maybe a bit more crisp in response. Where I noticed it most was getting up to speed on the freeway. At 40 and above you notice it

Do you guys ever scoop in rain water, bugs, and other misc road dirt? I've looked at these kits but have always wondered if they're safe enough for daily driving, or if they're for racing only.

I'm sure you're going to pick up some dirt, bugs, and a little water. Nothing that has caused any harm though else I'm sure some of the guys on here would of mentioned it and the issues it was causing. Might just have to pick up the scoop/washer bottle relocate kit and the CAI while the memorial day sale is going on at Phastek Performance.

Anyone have any recommendations on where to get a Cold Air Inductions CAI as well as the race scoop/washer bottle relocate kit? Was going to order everything from Phastek just now but they are out of the black CAI. Had a decent deal going with the Memorial Day coupon but now I'm not sure where to go online to purchase everything since Phastek is out of stock.

Had that same exact problem, but they got them in stock on the following Monday and we already have ours installed. My wife called them on Friday and they already had a shipment coming in.

I have the scoop but would have went vararam if I was the original owner.

57k miles and no issue with rain, dirt, or bugs.

More dirt on the filter, but still nothing to be worried about.a few little leaves and bugs. No water really but I am in SoCal. Rotofab been on for 16 months and doesn’t need cleaning yet. I just take out filter and shake out all the loose stuff

^yup haven't experience anything reaching the filter, plus the actual scoop has a hole towards the back if water ever got in it could drain through there.

Very slight improvement, after getting over about 30mph. Remove wheel, pull inner fender out. Used a Dremel tool to cut, tight space to work. Deleted the washer bottle way before installing ADM scoop.
