To 1DERZ SS, I think it might be cool to see the same style car for a few years, then do another retro to the Gen 2 Camaro.

As for Grandeos, I recall a post about his "authority" how splash guards don't belong on a muscle car. Yet, he bought an automatic So in other words, don't take him seriously.
I agree with the first few lines here

I hope they keep this body style for quite a while, I really like it. That said, I love the '70's era Camaros as well. Better than the 60's types that inspired the current car, actually.

Okay.... what do splash guards and transmissions have to do with each other ??? And more so, how do my opinions/preferences on those subjects matter for this particular subject??
Everyone has an opinion, and guess what.... you are not going to like them all. Deal with it. The poster asked, so I answered.

Secondly.... if the original statement meant... stopping production of this vehicle early, to start selling replica versions of a 30 year old car ..... then i stand by my response. That is what aftermarket is for.

But if the 1DERZ SS meant a new re-design with influence from the 2nd Gen Camaro..... then thats a whole different story. And if that was the case, then I mis-understood the post and apologize for my blunt-delivery. While I personally would disagree still, I do see the thought process in that. It would be an interesting SEMA project maybe..... but I dont see the broader appeal for mass-market. IMO as the Camaro progressed through the decades, it lost its identity, thus why it was canned after the 4th gen, and why now for 2010 we have gone back to the influence of the '69.

Being that this is a GM/Camaro enthusiast's forum, I can understand why I am getting heat for my opinions. As I am not a fan of either ... I just love this new 2010 Camaro. So excuse me if I dont worship all of the older-gen cars like you all do. I prefer to live in the future, not the past.

I think the point is to post the same way you would if you were having a face to face conversation w/ someone. I doubt you would say to someone face to face that you felt dumber for having heard what he just said.

No one is saying that it makes you a bad person, only that folks are encouraged to think a bit and reread a post before hitting the "reply" button.

No. I MUCH prefered the 67-69 body style. I never really liked them after that (until 2010). I did buy a used '78 Camaro and drove it for a couple of years while I was in grad school.

The early 2nd gen (70-73) Camaro's are my favorite, but I don't see any reason to change the 2010 design in a major way any time soon.

74 to 81 were the worst years ever for the Camaro in my opinion. No power and the looks left a lot to be desired. Of course those were dark years for many car companies.

They designed the current Camaro with inspiration from several previous years, including the second generation. Why would you want to change it so fast?

I think that would be a great idea! I own a second generation, 1972 Z28. The white Trans-Am concept, (which looks like a 1970 Firebird by the way),Was met with rave reviews. I think an update to the second gen body style would be awesome looking. The second generation had a lower roof line, with a fastback design,as well as other european styling influences. Some like it some dont. Kinda like the Harley-Davidson ad said; If I have to explain, you wouldnt understand. But I think it would be a neat idea.
