Never a car wash and never let them touch the interior.
I walked away from delivery on a used car once, they gooped it so bad it stunk and the smell made me sick when I test drove it.

That stuff at car washs is just some kind of shine, it has no real protectant qualities. Just as the others said i would wipe the interior down with a damp soapy cloth and then I might even go over it with armor all cleaner.
but no harm, just don't take it back. we pay too much for these cars now adays to let those that don't care about them abuse them. |

I liked the detail job they did at my dealer just before I took delivery. The exterior shone like glass. Not sure they did anything besides remove plastic covering on the inside. And I agree with others. Flat finish for interior is "in", has been for awhile now. Although, my auto purchase before last they tried to sell me on some kind of protectant finish for the interior. I was like no thanks, I prefer the new car smell and didn't want them mucking up the interior with God knows what. Your post will hopefully save others from this kind of thing.

There is no way anybody is touching this car but me when it comes to washing and waxing and detailing.
