I found the "reinvention" of the Camaro to be too gorgeous to pass up. I have decided on buying a new 2LT but I am left wondering if the $6,000 price & performance difference between a 2SS and a similarliy equipped 2LT will leave me wanting the 2SS in a year or 2.

What does everyone think? The opinions of owners are greatly apprciated. Has anyone had the LT over SS regret?
If your agonizing about it now, thats cuz your gut is already telling you to go with the SS, you are just trying to justify it. I initially ordered an 2LT and a week later changed to the 2SS while it waws still at 1100. If your compare them side by side you dont lose very much at all in gas milage from the V6 to the V8 standards. And you get that nice rumble in the engine you will mose definitley like. Better to spend $6000 for what you want then to save it and not be fully satisfied!

Go test drive both models form your own opinion. You pay the note on it 6-8k is nothing to sneeze at for the top model. Imo all models are awesome from the LS to the loaded SS. Gm hit a home run with this car.

If your concerns are the amount of power I can tell you this.... This is my 3rd Camaro, my first was a 67 with 327 then a 70 with 396 ... The LT flat out pulls the 327 and the 396 just out pulls the LT .... What I'm saying is the power of today's LT is just outstanding. I took mine on a trip to Orlando yesterday and was having a hard time keeping it under 80 ..... I typically don't make it a habit to speed, but I jumped on it about 3/4 pedal and it just kept pulling very hard until I let off at 90 ..... The LT is way under rated as far as power goes ..... This car is awesome !!!!

I said in post #9 to get the 2SS, BUT I thought you HAD the extra 6K .
If you don't have the extra 6k then I would say get the 2LT for sure!

I got mine and I wanted to have the major options. I plan on keeping mine forever and willing it to one of my kids! LOL I bought a Firebird when I graduated from Basic and kicked myself in the butt for years because I didn't get the Trans Am. I did not want to make the same mistake again!

+1, many times over..could have afforded a 2SS...did not want or need the extra power...but if you want and can afford, go with the 2SS... You're the one paying for it!

I hate to admit it, but I have to echo everyone that has said you should get the SS if you can or will be able to afford it. I've only had mine for 4 months and I am starting to regret not getting the SS.

The v6 isnt that quick and i think its because of the low torque number. I have the v6 and love it so dont get me wrong. But i want to give my honest opinion. In the monthes thta i have had my car, driving them back and foward between my brothers 05 v6 stang, they barely feel different and none of us can believe it but we all agree.
Ive driven a grand prix with i think 240 hp, not sure, and i could really feel the power. This was before i got my v6. So i figured if i could really feel the difference in this car, then i should really feel the difference when i jump up to 304hp. Nope, not at all. Wierd, i love my car and i know its quick, but its not that quick especially in terms of other cars. Maybe i have a lemon, but im used to driving cars with lower hp then my v6 and expected more of a jump in feeling the power. Just an honest opinion of my car.
I still love it to death but i can guarentee myself that i will be upgrading soon. If anyone wth the v6 has a friend with 4.0 v6 stang, try driving them back to back and let me know what you think. I honestly cant tell the difference so it might just be my car. I was supposed to get it dyno'd but with my knee surgury and all, it was impossible. So mine might just be a slow v6
go SS if you can afford it, youll never have that thought or whether or not you shouldve gone with the v8
Did i mention how those v8 splash commercials piss me of lol "Shouldve had a V8" and i murmer "thanks..you @$$hole" lmao
