I think you're fooling yourself if you think the P Zero tires are going to go anywhere in the snow even in a lower powered car. That really doesn't matter, the tires are just going to sit on top of the snow and you're going to go nowhere.

My LS with the stock BFG's did fine in compact snow and ice, can't say anything about the Pzero's though.

I drove my 06 GTO in the snow. It had summer tires on it and it was a manual. Never
really had too much problem. The manual I would think would be way easier to control. |

I drove my 05 GTO with manual in the snow also and it had summer tires. If the streets were packed down with snow it was ok. But I could try to drive in 4 inches of fresh snow and it would just sit there and spin even if I started out in second gear. Those summer tires don't have any deep lugs to throw the snow out. They're just like having slicks in the snow. My 2SS I have on order will have the 21" summer tires and I expect to have the same problem. I was even driving down a snow packed highway with GTO with traction control on going about 45mph. And all of a sudden the back end just broke loose. I found myself becoming a sled instantly going backwards, sideways and then again frontwards. Shot across the highway and went into a deep ditch full of snow. I think the deep snow worked as a pillow and saved me and the car. When I cleaned the car up I could not believe it but there wasn't a scratch on it. Not even from the wrecker hooking a chain on the front to pull me out. So you can drive in some snow but not if to deep and be aware that if you feel confident that your doing ok that the wheels can break loose at any time with summer tires. They aren't kidding when they say SUMMER tires.

We're running Michelin X-Ice 2 tires on the BMW, in place of the Summer Only 225/40/18 and 255/35/18 RE050 Bridgestones.

Ok I am not saying that I am driving with summer tires in the snow. I have snow tires. I have experience driving a rear wheel drive car in the snow my Buick has 309lb of torque and while it may not do burnouts, it'll push a Volkswagen outta its parking spot with out so much as a strain. It is great in the snow. And I drove a a '81 Camaro Z that found itself abandoned on the sidewalk in front of the driveway. I am just wondering which car the 5gen will be closest to.

I just don't know how you guys can drive this car in the snow. Just the damage the salt alone does is sad. Let alone someone sliding into you or putting it in a ditch bc you hit the gas on a ice patch. I just put mine in storage tonight and pulled out the car i was driving before I got the camaro. 93 grand am; know its not the best but for the snow and knowing nothing will be happen to my camaro makes it all worth storing it. If anything does happen this winter someone sliding in to me or even going in a ditch I'd rather it be my grand am.
