They can be made to fit but requires one hole drilled and two nylon spacers used to make the other two holes work with longer screws |

I just screwed mine directly into the flares. 2 small holes per flare is worth protecting the rest of the car rearward. I did not pre-drill.. simply muscled the screws in with a Phillips head. I have removed and reinstalled them several times while getting the car wrapped, and then when we modified the flares to be removable whenever we want without using tape.. Flares have held easily even after all of the removals.
I think people are severely over-thinking this. Last edited by MrRaZ28; 03-18-2019 at 05:51 PM. |

I made my mudguard for my Z28 from some mudguards made for off the road pickups. They completely stop and rock spray. A little wider and about an inch below the bottom of the fender. Everyone that asks about thinks they were from the factory. That's how good they look and cheaper than from ZL1!

just following up on this; I did end up installing them. It was super quick, and I ended up drilling 2 small pilot holes for the screws, then mounting it. I think it took me 30 minutes to do both sides...very easy, just had to get over not wanting to put the holes in.

There are two holes. One on bottom and one on top. The bottom hole use the existing screw to screw it on. Snug, now put pressure to the center of the guard so that way it will curve to the wheel well. Now line up the top hole to your desire (out, center or in) and mark center hole with a sharpie. Drill pilot hole and screw it on.
Make sure you use the mat side towards the driver and the glossy side to the wheel. Make sure your pilot drill is smaller than screw. Your choice you can use 3m double sticker but once you have it on it’s permanent. I didn’t use 3m and it’s holding up just fine. Good luck mate. It’s really easy. |
