Woohoo, finally got all the polishing and coating finished and boy am I happy with the result. For once the sun even shone allowing the paint to pop. Drove to the petrol/gas station for fuel and couldn't get away from it so many people where chatting and taking photo's of it. It's a BIG car on our little roads so was a little nerve wrecking at the start but I'll get used to it.

nice model with great detail... I have to go dig up the model I made of my 2001 WS6 now that matched my car.

Because I'm in the UK the Onstar and XM don't work on my MyLink system. Not worried about that but I've discovered a quirk with the FM radio, it will only tune into channels that end in odd numbers! Some of the stations here end in even numbers 97.4 105.6 etc. I can manually tune them to either 97.3 or 97.5 but not 4 which is obviously not much use. Also I have no idea how or if its possible to load apps onto the system. Reading through Youtube says you can but they all show it done but not how it is done.

I really don't want to have to change the system as i really like the heater controls as they are so don't want to lose them to a different type.

I did buy a Mirror Link box but can't get it to mate to the system either.

First show for the car at a local car meet. Was very pleasantly surprised at how much attention it got.

This week I got a little time to start on the spring change. I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised at how easy the job was.

Loosen all the 24mm bolts, 10mm that holds the brake line, 19mm for the drop link,

https://www.camaro5.com/forums/attac...1&d=1564740390

Loosen the 24mm on the turret

https://www.camaro5.com/forums/attac...1&d=1564740390

And that’s it out.

attachmentid=998179&stc=1&d=1564740390

Then it’s a case of removing the other 24mm that holds the spring in and job done. Yes you may have noticed no spring compressors, no need, the spring isn’t load bearing.

https://www.camaro5.com/forums/attac...1&d=1564740937

New spring in, and all bolted up. 40 minutes all in. Oh and I’ll spray the dampers before putting the wheels back on.

How many other 5th gen Camaros have you seen in Ireland?
Your wheels are different. The rear wheels are from a 2010-2012 Camaro and the front wheels are from a 2013-2015 Camaro.

Well spotted. It wasn't until I got the car home that I realised it had 3 2013 wheels and one rear 2010 wheel I like the 2010 wheels more so bought a rear from the US with a view of buying 2 front 2010 rims later. Unfortunately it worked out rather expensive. Although the wheel was only $150 by the time shipping and import where added in the bill came to almost $700. I do still intend to go for the 2010 front at some point if I can figure a cheaper way to get them.

I believe there are 4 Gen 5 cars here in Ireland but I've only seen on other, a black one.

Hi all, sorry I haven't been on in a while, been dealing with a few family issues and illness thats taking up my time. Not much to report on about the car to be honest as its been a dream to drive. A professional photographer friend wanted to take a few shots of the car a while back which I love.

Oh I knew there was something I meant to add, I have a friend who lives in Pennsylvania and I sent him a photo of 2 stickers that are on the cars windscreen. Turns out my car came from Pennsylvania which is a nice coincidence.

Also the weather has turned quite nasty of late so I've decided to put the car away until things improve.
