I get more compliments when out in my Sedan than the ZL1. I think a lot has to do with the color and the fact it's pretty much a unicorn car, where the Camaro is a lot more common.

Probably so, I’ve only seen a handful of SS sedans in real life. They are pretty special for sure.

On Saturday nights, it's popular to cruise down the main road in my town. Doing my usual laps and got 4 compliments.

Compliments

These cars will ALWAYS look good! GM really nailed the design on these cars. Compliments are a frequent occurrence for us all I’m certain.

Sure I’m not the only one who loves it as much today as when I bought it new.

Timeless.

I agree. They aren't ugly by any means, but just a little too bland for my taste. They went way too conservative with the styling, which is probably why they didn't sell very well. There was one parked next to me on Sat. while at my daughter's soccer game, it had drilled/slotted rotors front and rear and Brembos up front. Those weren't OEM, were they?

So true. I've never noticed even one big plain SS with 2 extra doors, and I doubt
many others have either.

First off they completely sold out of all produced cars. There were only around 12k produced over a four year period. The 14 came with Brembo in front only, and A6 trans. The 15-17 came with Brembo front and rear, M6 as an option also with mag ride. The later models also had NPP exhaust as standard.

One of the things that catches the eye on mine is the way it sounds. I have after market exhaust, intake and LMS tune. The sound of the car is very old school sound with the LS3. The car comes standard with all the bells and whistles. The ride on the 14, is like the ZL1 in Sport mode. The handling is very light compared to the Camaro. With just the couple things I've had done the car runs very good on the highway. It puts down 390/395 to the wheels with the A6 trans and just under 4K lbs.

I completely agree that the 5th gen Camaro is one of the best looking of all time. You can't hardly beat a classic 1st gen for looks, but the retro styling of the 5th gen was on point as a modern interpretation of the 1st gen car and I still get compliments on mine all the time as well. Of course a nice cam thump now doesn't hurt either, but before that the color was the number 1 compliment and then just how people liked the style was a close second. I'll keep mine as nice as I can as long as I can and then restore it when that time comes. These cars are incredible.

SlingShot, I will not disagree that SS sedans are awesome and I'm always on the watch for one. However, I'm one to always say that the G8 got the exterior the SS should have had and the SS has the interior the G8 should have had. I love SS sedans and if I was going to an office job without a company vehicle I would be all over a M6 later model year SS sedan because of the M6, NPP, Brembos on all 4 corners, and mag ride. I just wish they had gone a little more aggressive on the exterior styling and added a few extra hp as the Chargers and 300's were pushing 470hp/470tq in the later years of the SS.

What about the Holden performance cars? WS whatever the hell? Those are great looking cars. The ss is like a 6 or 7 and the Holden is a 8 or 9 imo.

I bought my Camaro last year, I have wanted one since the Gen 5 came out. I can't recall ever retaining the want as long as I have for the gen 5. For me it's THE car, to each their own. I get compliments on mine quite frequently, but even if I didn't it would not dull my enthusiasm for it.

And that's all that matters...

Those are HSV cars and run around $120K US, versus $46 for the SS.

Holy crap the ss looks much more appealing when cost is a factor!
