I had a '15 1SS/1LE, even though it was stock with the 285's on the 20x11 inch wheel for the rears, I never liked it, was too stretched for my liking.. I preferred the 305 for the rear.

Yea, to each their own. I always enjoy having a little bit of tire overhang on the wheel. Just in case you get into a tight spot, the tire takes the bump instead of the wheel. I like doing it just for a piece of mind.
Luckily, I've never had to test it out. JMHO.

I would go wider. I have Hankook Ventus 305s in the rear at 574WHP in a straight line on a Day over 85 degrees I can hook in first on a roll on. Once the temp drops it doesn't hook anymore. With them hot at the track I suspect they will hook better but it's on the brink. It is also scary putting down that much power cornering, just a bit too much throttle and when she lets go it lets go FAST.

I run the Ventus V12 EVO2's in a 285/325 on 10x19 and 11x19's on my 6th gen. They still break loose easily in 1st & 2nd without any mods. Not terribly impressed on that front.

Hudson, nice car.
I'm getting ready to buy new tires..Question, Do you think 315s would've cleared? Got a side pic to see the "stance" I'm assuming you're running stock suspension.

Thxs in advance!!

I prefer 305s on the back simply because of how stretched the 285s look on the 11" wide wheels. I've always hated that stretched look.

I've run 315R/275F, 305R/285F, and 285 on all 4. I would recommend 305R/285F for a spirited non-track car. It looks better than 285 on the rear.

I'd have to look at the exact tire I have I don't think its an V12. I'm at 574WHP and 520WTQ on a Whipple and on a hot day I have full traction in 1st with stock gearing on a roll on from 15mph, not a dig, and just a chirp into 2nd.

I'd be curious to know. The LT1 only makes about 400RWHP in the M6.

FYI, the ZL1's came with 285's on the front 10" rims, and 305's on the rear 11' rims.

I've been running 295/315's on the stock ZL1 rims for years now with no rubbing at all at stock ride height.

I also switched to Michelin Pilot Super Sport K2's as well.

you can fit 335/30 in the rear with factory ZL1/1LE 20x11 rear wheels
