Now I know that everybody can't afford the 2ss, but i just don't want to see the market oversaturated with the v-6's, which start in the low 20k range, which is afffordable to all the little girlies out there, who just want "the look" of the car. I don't want to sound stereotypical, but most of the men want the ss or nothing i would guess. this would limit the car out there because of affordability. it won't feel special to me anymore seeing the car in large numbers out on the road, like the old days. remember that?......camaros, firebirds galore evrywhere in the 80's n 90's. i hope GM recognizes they have something special here, and does not jeapordize the integrity of this special aura that is surrounding this car, just for the sake of $ signs. anybody with any insight on this thought?
GM doesn't have the luxury of making this a limited production car. They need to make money and the public WANTS this car and considering how many have been sold so far, GM will make as many as people will take.

Ferrari and Lamborghini have the ability to keep a car limited and exclusive as thats how their business is built, GM doesn't have that luxury.

Who's gonna sell their camaro?? unless it's to get another Camaro??
So if there are more SS's on the road than V6's as it has been so far wouldn't the resale of the SS's be less than the V6's relatively speaking?

So to keep the resale of the SS models higher you need to sell more V6's than V8's...So quit ordering SS's...

Not at all. In order for resale values to be bottomed out there need to be a lot of them for sale. I do not anticipate that for this car as while there will be a lot, there won't be as many for sale as you'd expect.

A good example of bottomed out resale is the Ford Explorer, there were millions of them made, and due to the gas problems and the fact they are pieces of shit theres a ton of them for sale. That has really bottomed their resale values out.

I absolutely understand your point... as in that's how free market works. But... isn't GM owned by Governments (and unions)??? That's not how a free market runs, so it may change how GM runs. Not to hi-jack the thread, but have you noticed the "go green" EVERYWHERE? Jus' sayin...

You will see more Camaros on the road but they wont be everywhere the way Cobalts and Silverados are. They will always be badass and if handed the keys I think just about everyone would say "Yes please!".

I don't see a problem with pricing the car so that many can afford it. GM needs to make money by selling lots of them. We get a great car at a reasonable price. It seems to me the main reason for you to not want a lot of Camaros on the road is because you want people to notice yours. I don't really care what other people think about my car. I care what I think about it.

I worry more that if GM goes out of business, then I won't be able to get parts and service later on. I hope they sell lots of cars and stay in business.

Just my 2 cents.

If you're worried about not having a special car. Step up and by a SLP or Nickey or Hennessey Camaro.

Ya same here i got a 2LT/RS...i find it funny how so many v8 owners get mad that the v6 looks like their v8 and the want GM to change it up a bit...I just recived an email from my dealer saying they have 15 camaros in stock under MSRP and that pisses me off cuz i just purchased one at MSRP. Today my car is a month old and guess what i own a rare color so im not worried...I have an ABM 2LT/RS with gray interior...but i do wish they didnt make so many cuz i dont want it to be like the toyota camry...literally at one signal light the other day i saw six...

I bought my V6 because I love camaros! I have a 69 vert SS with the V8 and love it too. I just can't drive it everyday due to my commute. I'm not a girlie with a V6 I'm someone who is just being sensible and enjoying my cars. If someone wants to purchase one just like mine feel free, I would consider this a compliment!
Can hardly wait for the new verts to come out. You know it just might be a V6 !

Some people think that the Camaro is a Muscle Car and shouldn't even be offered in a V6.. but if they would only think. back in the 60's and 70's all the cars that were considered muscle cars had lower powered versions available.. Not all Chevelles were SS's most were 2 door or 4 door small V8 or 6 Cyl. cars.. Camaros were the same way... Even the GTO had the Lemans it was based off of..
So just because the Camaro is considered by some to be a Muscle car it is only the SS versions that really are and the rest of us own Camaros.. You V8 guys are just goning to have to accept it and get over your superiority complex.
