I really like the sound of GMMG Chambered exhaust systems. I will probably be getting one if I get an SS.

Good news. I love Borla, although I'll probably be looking for either SLP or Flowmaster American Thunders (assuming they make em for the Camaro).

I'm sure many companies are going to make mufflers with pipes specifically to fit in place of the OEM mufflers. It looks like most of the bends I've seen on the G8 (for referrence) are mandrel bent so I think it wouldn't be difficult to get good gains from just muffler replacement only. I wonder if GMPP will work with the accessory department to fit ground effects...

i was at the american lemanns race last 2 weeks ago and i talked to the sales rep and some guys from corsa and they are making a kit to but dont have anything yet. so my guess is borla will def. be the first to the exhaust scene.

on my trans am i went through 3 exhaust systems until i finally stuck with a good one. i first went from slp loudmouth but it was too loud with not cats on it(and it was very raspy at high rpm). then i tried magnaflow and they sounded good but something didnt sound right. then i finally got a flowmaster. basically because it was cheap, catback and i heard good things about it. this was also 4 years ago. since then i saved more money and im doing it professional on this new camaro. i like the other exhaust but borla for the price, yeah it may be expensive but it has a sound all its own. ive had borla on a few of my trucks since then and i love the sound. not too deep at full throttle but loud enough at idle.

As for aftermarket exhaust for my future Camaro, the thought of spending 500-700 dollars apalls me. I'd rather spend 100 bucks on the muffler from the cat back set and make my own. Cut out the old muffler/resonator and weld in the new one. I can't see the minute performance/sound gains being worth paying 5X more. |
