I think that if you encounter anyone judging you by their stereotype of you, that's probably the judgement they'll have. Mostly people won't think anything of it.

Anyone who thinks you shouldn't be driving it is a jerk, and would be a jerk no matter who you are or what you drive.

Fantastic!! I had not seen this before. Thanks.

Its a car, as long as you can afford it and drive it responsiblly how does your nationality come into play? In America you buy what you want and if for some reason any doesn't like it F'em.

Now some cars have sterotypes depending on the region but that doesn't mean anyone has to conform to it.

First, I would say, welcome to America, glad to have you.

Second, welcome to the forum, again, we're glad to have you.

Like others have said, they'll be staring at the car, and maybe get a little jealous of you driving it, but your nationality has nothing to do with that.

Just, please, do me a favor....don't rice it. I'm not trying to be mean or saying that you would, but if you rice it, then you'll be adding to those stereotypes that created that misconception you are talking about. I'm not saying don't modify it or personalize it, just don't rice it. (Don't have or grow a mullet either...that just perpetuates a whole other stereotype that we don't want....lol)

Also, for the record, I wouldn't totally knock the Hyundais. They are actually doing pretty well. That Veracruz is nice (if you've read about them, I can agree, almost Lexus nice). The last few sedans to roll off their lines look nice and are certainly competitive in their respective markets. And, personally, I think the Genesis and Genesis Coupe will be contenders in their markets.

Having said that, I still prefer American made, specifically GM made, even more specifically, Chevy made.

Regarding the Camaro, if that one is your "#1 on my list car", then join the club. It's a great club to be a part of.

I don't think that type of racism will be an issue. You'll be sporting a classy ride. You could say the same thing about your VW right now. It isn't Asian and you're driving it. There's nothing wrong with a car enthusiast having any car of their choosing.

WELCOME! This is a great site and I think you'll find it pretty interesting.

I wouldn't worry about what people think of you if you drive this car. Who cares? You're coming here anyways, so what's it to them. Do what is right for you.

I totally agree 'cause love of the Camaro isn't just for Americans. I have a buddy at work who swears by Ford (and he's Asian), but after seeing the new 5th gen he has crossed over and will be ordering our cars at the same time (an SS of course). ")

Some people may be racist, but you know what? Screw them. You have every right to drive whatever car you want, and if someone has a problem, it's just that; their problem.
