I'm planning on coming as well. Working on the logistics of leaving work and if i'm going to be visiting friends while i'm down south. I'd definitely be in for joining the group to fill 95! myold88 - Where would you be leaving from? I'm close to the 29/100 area.

Can you imagine the headline? "5th gen Camaros are mobilizing all over the country. Not sure where they are heading, but all roads point south to Ga".

It looks like we are up to 16 possible so far. This will be an awesome cruise and a very memorable event. If you would like to cruise down with us let me know. I will put you on the list.

I know we have a number of people in MD, DC, and Va who plan on going to the Camaro5Fest in April. I think it would be safe to start a location for those north of Fredericksburg. I think the entrance of Spotsylvania Mall in Fredericksburg would be a good meeting point for those north of exit 130B on 95south in Va.

Fredericksburg VA exit 130B off 95 southbound. Two lights on the left at Spotsylvania Mall in front of the main entrance. It has a large space for many cars.
Thursday@ 10am

Ok, here are some meeting points based on the map.

meeting points after Fredericksburg Va on 95s.

Emporia Va around 1pm if all is well on hwy.
interstate 95s and interstate 40 NC
interstate 95s and interstate 20 SC
interstate 95S and interstate 26 SC
Savannah Ga, get hotel and eat/socialize then sleep.
Friday, depart Savannah at 8AM.
Fla interstate 10W and interstate 295 beltway.
open to suggestion on other meeting points?

Let me know how they look. I still need to get times between the distances.

Drive to Savannah Ga, which is 8 hours from Fredericksburg Va, and 5 hours to South Ga motorsport park.

1. edog Fredericksburg
2. cruznSS Emporia
3. Blackhawk6 Emporia
4. RickRay Frdericksburg
5. cm5217...Fredericksburg? looking for room-mate. Anyone looking to share?

You know you are always welcome to cruise with us. Are you coming down 95?

So far we have a number of the ussual suspects from our last meet at Cici's pizza. There are a few others who have mentioned trailers. Would you like me to place you on the list?

For once I will have a chance to blow by your Camaro.

I am sure the down and up trip will be the only time.

My Daughter lives in Severna Park, Md, off I-97. My Son-In-Law may drive down with me and fly back, as I plan to continue South after the camaro5fest to visit friends in So Florida.
I'll meet up with this Md/Va group to start our caravan wherever they decide.

Just a heads up: I called the Holiday Inn host hotel in Valdosa just now. They are booked solid for 4/16-4/17. I was able to reserve their Holiday Inn Express for that Friday and Saturday night. It's at I-75 exit 18. I'm told it's a couple miles up the road. They quoted me $109.00 a night- then went down to $89.99 when I mentioned Camaro5fest. It's all non smoking and includes hot breakfast bar. I doubt there will be anything available within 10 miles around buy the end of this month. Holiday Inn site: ihg.com..... Cant wait !.
PS: I forgot- Holiday Inn says there are also two unrelated conventions this same week end- Better book soon !.

I have checked into the vehicle mount CB radio. Here is the write up...

Combination PRO510XL CB Radio & K30 Antenna W. Plug 510K30
Easy to install CB radio kit. Everything you need for a quick installation. Includes the Uniden Pro510XL CB radio with an attached cigarette plug and the K30 magnetic mount antenna. Simply plug the radio into your vehicle power outlet, attach antenna to roof of vehicle and you are on the air!

Ok, I am going on record as saying I am not opting for the CB radio.

I did find this other handheld CB radio, which does not use antennas mounted on the car. Max range without things being stuck on the car.

Cobra HH 38 WX ST Handheld CB, 79.99
http://www.walcottcb.com/cobra-hh38w...th=340_377_380

Whatever your outdoor activity, Cobra's compact handheld CB radios are a great way to stay in touch with friends, or the over 30 million other CB radios in use across the country. Plus complete access to 10 National Weather Channels (7 NOAA and 3 International) for the latest weather information. And there are no license or service fees! Cobra's HH 38 WX ST incorporates SoundTracker, a patent-pending technology that dramatically improves the sound quality of the transmission and reception of CB radio signals.

I think motorola walkie talkies would be sufficient as well. They average ranges of 6 miles, which should be good for those in the caravan. Any thoughts?

depending on what time you all are passing thru SC, you might be able to meet up with some of us on I-95 where it intersects I-26

Count me in for the Caravan starting at the Spotsylvania Mall in Fredericksburg. I'm not completely sure I can go yet, but I'll do whatever I can to get the time away from work to go. If something happens and I can't make the drive to GA, I'll still try to meet you all in the parking lot and wish you well. It'll be nice to see all the 2010's together in one place!
