You can always tell the person where & when there's "Cars 'n Coffee",lots of people there that would love to elaborate on their Camaro.

That's awesome. I also will talk anyone's ear off that asks me about cars. I love talking cars.

That all changes when you get a cam. I used to get the occasional compliment before I cammed it, most usually due to the exhaust. Now that I am cammed it happens all the time, especially at gas stations...which I visit frequently. I was told this before I cammed it and dismissed it. They were right.

People just love a lopey cam. Although I don't think my neighbors are part of that group.

im surprised to see on KBB my car went up in value... checked it earlier this year and was alerted by the price hike this morning and punched my numbers in again. kinda shocking. I always felt gen 5 was special, but i always thought it was my bias.

Best comment I received at a gas station from an older lady..."it looks like a new car but sounds like an old one."

And thus started a nice, somewhat lengthy discussion about Camaros. I guess I was just surprised at the demographic. Around here you don't see too many young, Asian kids in Camaros. I'm not trying to stereotype, it's just the way it is.

He asked to see the interior and had a ton of questions about performance, handling, etc. It was pretty cool. His biggest concern was whether or not he'd be able to afford a 5th gen in a few years if they go the way 1st and early 2nd gen Camaros have gone in terms of value.

It was pretty cool. Honestly, I don't get too many looks or comments about the car just because there are so many around here. It was a fun way to spend 15 minutes before heading back to work.

Lol I’m Asian and I’ve always been into American muscle !! No replacement for displacement lol

Although it’s true what you said , raced a 18’gtr and kept up with him and he was surprised .. must of thought I was an ss driver was Asian

At the local gas station where on the other side of the island were a couple of late teen, twenty something dudes. After the fill up, I fire up my ride and hear “oh yea!” followed by “and it’s a stick!”
I responded with “ well yea, you can’t have a muscle car with an auto” (imho). I get a “damn straight!” from the gent. As I ease out of the spot, the other guy quips “that thing is sick!”. Just talking cars.

In both this car and my SIM 2LTRS that I traded for this vert, I get positive comments and gestures just about every day. I don't think it's because my cars were anything special in the realm of Camaros, but because the appearance of the 5th Gens are soooooo damn special compared to the looks of most everything else on the road.

They just plain stand out.

I do love the sound of a good bump stick. I won't be getting that done though until I get my dream Camaro - a '14 or '15 Z/28.
