Mom4m,
WELCOME! Post the VIN and photos here when you have a opportunity. Autotrader, B.A.T, Cargurs, EBay, Consignment lot or even an auction house with a set minimum value could be given consideration. As others have stated, don’t get in a rush, the car will sell. Avoid dealerships, Carmax and Carvana type places. Besides condition, care and maintenance history additional items people may ask about (that not everyone got from the dealership) are the Owners Manual with Z/28 supplement, Monroney card (window sticker), Z/28 Certificate Of Authenticity (black glossy 5 x 7 ish envelope with a Z fold / cut inside of it with another red envelope inside that includes the VIN and other vehicle information), 2 sets of keys, and the yellow shipping blocks (little bigger than hockey pucks) that fit / lift the front suspension for loading onto a trailer. Maintain the battery (it’s in the trunk where the spare tire would normally be located) on a trickle charger or go start the car monthly to keep it charged up. |

Sorry for your loss! Hope you get what you want out of it and you find a serious buyer that takes care of it.

I really do appreciate all of the advice. It is certainly possible that my BIL was on this forum (he was in Northern VA/DC area). We're in no particular hurry to sell. Car probably has to be part of probate anyways - even though the title is clear. We're going over to clean it out and I'll definitely look to see if it has all of the stuff that AustexaSS mentions. I'll try to get a few pictures. We'll take it for a little drive too. I've driven it before, but I'm only 5'4" so felt like the dash was very high. My daughter borrowed it and drove it to prom in high school. That made a statement!

Sorry for your loss. I don't know your circumstances but I would consider keeping this car. It is a special car as mentioned. This car will most likely keep climbing in value. Z/28's have been trending up in value over the past year. You have a fairly low mileage car.
Ford just discontinued the GT350R another similar car. The Camaro future for GM is up in the air. They just don't make these kind of cars that often anymore. If you don't have to sell I would hold it and keep it in the family and take good care of the car. If you decide to sell I would search for 2014-2015 Z/28's on autotrader and Ebay and see what these are going for. IT's a specific market. Almost anyone contacting will know a lot of about this car and some might even buy it without seeing it if it's across country. Good luck.

Sorry for your loss.
Here is the build count for Z/28's. Seems you have a "one owner" Z/28 with 5,900 miles (low) - both are very favorable for sale of your Z. Market was very good this summer - given where you live, market is not as good in the winter time - but you never know, someone may need a Christmas present - Look on Auto Trader, Cars.com and Car Guru's. Just watch the ads, miles, price etc. You will start to see the trends in values and what cars disapear. Look once or twice a week for a few months and you will have a pretty good idea on pricing. Don't be afraid to ask $55k +/- and see what happens. Good luck with the sale. |

Here is the link to the black Z/28 that sold on 11/05/2020 on Bring a Trailer website. The owner was a member here.
https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...ign=2020-11-05 That car only had 970 miles so take that into account.

Sorry to here about your BIL. Hope you sell your car to someone who will take care of her. My 2 cents worth...Post it in AutoTraders or Carguru. Look around and see the market selling price and go from there. I wouldn't auction it or just sell it low ball. These are special cars IMO so sell it at a going price. Good luck.

Keep in mind, BaT gets 10% over the sale price so the buyer actually paid $63,250 plus any transport and tax/title. Still less than MSRP and basically a new car. I have seen them listed with under 500 miles for $69-$75k and higher.

The help of this forum was most appreciated. My BIL's car has found the perfect new home. He would be so pleased that it is going to be appreciated and cherished. May all of you enjoy driving your Z-28s as much as he enjoyed his (while I zip around in my little Civic Si).
