First, thanks for sharing. Please continue to share any info. with us too. That's what this site is for.

Second. Do not be sorry. You're only stating what your dealer has told you.

Please realize there is ALOT of speculation out there as well as alot of misinformation.

This site is here for you to share your thoughts and/or experiences regarding the new Camaro.

Thanks for sharing, Freedom ........ It sounds like this dealership is a little optimistic, but time will tell. Don't be afraid to post here, I'm pretty new here, and so far, have found this site to be filled with friendly, enthusiastic members.

I happen to believe that we will see a Camaro Convertible at Indy in May of 2008, painted in white w/orange stripes (or maybe orange with white stripes). I have nothing concrete to base this opinion on, other than a gut feeling. And I think it would be a great way for Chevrolet to keep the excitement going as they finally head into production. Besides, it would be pretty cool!

.... .....Thanks as well for sharing, Freedom07, but I read that first post and just about had a heart attack!!! Of course, I'm thinking "Oh no. Here we go again!" Oh boy, that one turned out a lot better than I thought it would! Thanks to everyone for being about it.

As the others said, it's been discussed a few times and it got a little crazy at one point. Moose pretty much summed it up!!

Freedom thanks for sharing the information. In speaking with Tom yesterday there was no mention of the car coming in 07 more like late 08 according to his sources.

I wish it was 07 that would be flipping awesome..........Either way I think we're going to get the car the community wants.

He told me tonight that his dealership here in Goldsboro, North Carolina will recieve the first shipment of new Camaro's at the end of OCTOBER 2007!!!!!!!! He said there will be a shipment of 10 2008 Camaro's delivered.

Interesting that the dealer gave a specific number of cars they expect to have delivered. That's alot different from people talking to there dealers and the dealers saying 'its coming out in '07 as an '08 model'. This goes a little bit further. He may be off though by a few months, but everything seems to indicate that the car is on schedule to come out sooner than expected. The testing and development of the production car is way ahead of schedule. The only stumbling block is retrofitting the Oshawa plant to build the cars. But GM is releasing the 2008 Pontiac G8 in '07 as an '08 model (this car is to be built in Oshawa with the Camaro) but initial number of cars will be brought in from Australia and once the Oshawa plant is ready, production will move there. If GM really wanted to, they could build the first few Camaros in Australia before switching production over to Oshawa, just like the G8. So there is a chance of something happening in late '07 or early '08.

Thanks guys..I cant wait for this baby to come out. the plan is to get the new one when it comes out and then buy a 68 SS. have them painted the exact same color scheme. I have wanted that since I heard the camaro was coming back. I wasnt real fond of the body styles in the 90's and 2000's but am very happy it is going back to a classic style. I did have a chance to talk to a guy at the local ford dealer ship and I took a look at the mustang gt. now bad for a ford...lol..but one thing I did notice is that the interior is....well to foofoo. now this is only my opinion and thats all but a muscle car does not need all the fancy stuff. this is another reason I like the new Camaro the setup inside is simple, it looks classic and like what a muscle car should look like.

well like everyone helped me understand yesterday the dealerships often dont know when there stock is coming in of new vehicles. and after thinking about it. him mentioning a specific number coming in, well he was probably just trying to get me to come back to his dealership. but I will keep my fingers crossed and if he is right I will let everyone know but by then I am sure that we will all know.

I agree Doug. I think we will see it at Indy in May of 08. But if I had to put money on a color I would go with the Orange with White stripes.

I hope this is not a stupid question, but what is happening in Indy in May? I live in Indy and am totally oblivious here.
