It don’t come easy.

Imho, normal response to paying off one’s toy is strict jubilation. OP goes on to say what is wrong with owning/driving it. ??

if you had a car that just keeps having issues and draining your account and savings, would you keep it? hell no. I have the money to pay off whats left sell it and wipe my hands clean. but I'm not wasting another dollar on this craptastic sorry excuse of a car that I truly believe is a lemon I quit coming on here to talk about or even update the problems I had because every one blames me for this shit happening. never have I ever had these problems with the fords I owned, the Audi A4 2 of them (that's not a boast if you know what problems the B6 platform can have), the Mercedes W124 platform. this ****ing POS is always braking I'm not even pointing fingers at GM just this car, 100% is a lemon its always something new with it. even one of my 1st post on here was that I got a check engine light for the Evap solenoid on it 3 days in to owning it. read posts on here using the search function before buying the car, not to top off the tank as well it can hurt the evap system. I waited 6 months to pull the trigger and buy what I felt was a good car. I even had my mechanic tell me the evap as well as other codes were pre existing and kept getting removed. this car truly has been a nightmare ownership, that I just want out of not a day goes by that i don't want to push it off a cliff. or see it destroyed by a drunk drive flying up the street. and now I'm having physical pain when driving it. I cant adjust the seat any lower I cant go any farther back. this is hunched over just to see the stop sign. and no I don't care its not washed for a dumb pic to show my point of view. I've been barrowing the Mitsubishi mostly to go to work and home for 9 months. haven't driven this ex to move it for street sweeping and days I cant barrow the other car. this car can take is shitty playskool plastic dash its fake ass wannabe retro gauges its junk 80s looking digital screens stupid giant A pillar its garbage side windows you cant see out of and its back window that only gives you a vague sense of there objects behind you and piss of out of my life forever if you never had a problem, or in and out of the shop on a regular basis and can see out of your 5th gen and love every moment because you got a car that works good I'm glad, enjoy your car and don't let it go if you love it that much. but for me this has been a nightmare car with very few times after that 1st year new car experience wore off that I went this is nice I like this car. i spent money on projector headlight housings and LED tails and exhaust just to fool my self in to that sense, hay ive personalized it maybe ill like it more. nope all it did was make me love the sound it makes and see a bit better at night. same with each repair maybe now that this is fixed ill like it. nope because now this problem happened and that problem happened. the only happy I have felt is its fixed the problems are gone its sorted mechanically and i can save up and pay it off and get rid of it ASAP and never own that car again, carvainia can have it as there problem now |

I’m 6’4 and agree slightly on the seats. I sit in a leaned posture so it’s not too bad but that’s a main reason why I’m doing braum seats since it drops about 2”. Not everyone will love every car - drive what you enjoy.

I learned to drive big 4 door sedans, learned manual driving semi trucks. enjoyed that thought id enjoy having a manual 2 door. in the end its just not for me. maybe if my ownership was without the mechanical problems id look in to getting big boy friendly buckets and drop my seating as low as it could go. in the end its just a car, that I'm pretty bitter towards maybe a bit unfairly. major goal for what i need right now is MPG and practicality and fit in to. I've never owned a Japanese branded car. always been USA or German. always wanted to try Honda or Toyota or Lexus. and in a weird way if I could find the right one a 90s W124 Mercedes with the M104 engine because I don't want to deal with the Bosch Fuel distributor the M103 has that my 88 260E had that killed it at 568,000 miles. I learned to work on old Mercedes stuff they don't really scare me off. back when Mercedes had everything in sight and you could work on them. |

when your always having to fix something so low on miles and granny driving it everywhere being afraid of something else braking every time you get in your car with payments. you start to think of and only focus on all the things you hate about your car. so let me be positive. I do and still love the look of the 5th gen its a hansom brute, with the ones that are fully loaded with every option they look really nice inside. its a fantastic platform to tune on run power on and dress up with really nice parts. i truly feel this is a Hero car for GM as they had a rough rough ride in 2007 with the housing crash we lost Saturn, Pontiac and Saab etc. the Camaro was more then just a car when it came back. it was a Name every one knew and was excited for. my Camaro has autism and still shits his pants licks windows and eats bugs and stuff they find on the floor. he cant help it, he is trying his best just wasn't built right and quality inspection let him slip through. and I financially cant support it. I think that's the best way to look at it. I should of been a little suspicious that it has 2 prior owners with less then 24,000 miles on it. when I picked it up it only has 60k on it now did not get to drive it much in 4 years, always in and out the repair shop. ![]() all i can say is my Experience has just left me harshly bitter about my car and not Camaros as a whole. 5th gen just is not the right one for me |

sorry you had a bad run, I edited my earlier comment just because it probably came off a bit more Dickish than I really intended. These cars have an exceptional overall reputation for being rock solid reliable cars. It sucks you got a bad one, because when you get to drive a good one, it’s a experience that is unrivaled to anything else I’ve done in life. Hopefully you can find something that will be a little better too you in the future.

I'm keeping all the extra parts i horded for it the 1st year i had it. headlight housings taillight housings a heritage grill I bought off a wrecked 5th gen being parted out on craigslist. the extra set of steelies i was going to have widened and polished when i wanted to have it bagged on air. wasn't like at one point i did not love it. fully intended to build it to be just a cruiser and for hard parking on air. think i annoyed every one on here asking about turbo set ups at one point superchargers ect before settling on what I've always wanted to do to a car bag it slam it cruise it. then came the hit and run when going home from work at 5am dark out. person took off, that happened a total of 3 times. all superficial damage. but that one hit was paint damage I could not buff out hasn't been a pleasant ownership. cosmetic wise I haven't fixed that and carvania will prob get a new bumper paint match blend it and turnaround and sell it. also happened to my crown vic 2 weeks after painting it from black and white to blue metal flake with pearl at the paint shop Last edited by riozlander; 08-08-2021 at 03:44 AM. |

Can you tell us how you really feel about the car? Lol. Sorry to hear about all the problems you’ve experienced. Hopefully your next vehicle will be exceptional. I’ll probably be getting the gladiator in a few years due to my back pain.

not getting payments again. I'm 20k in another loan to go back to school for welding and fabrication whatever it is will be a higher mileage car. and ill try hard to keep that as long as possible I'm really leaning heavy over to honda and toyota. then I need to work on getting the hell out of California. take off to CO or the east coast somewhere. i just want out of here then i can focus on a fun car later on. and with how the world is changing on its view of cars in general might just end up in electric something or other |

I can understand the criticism of the car's mechanical failures notwithstanding how it was driven or maintained, of course. The other stuff is just your personal preferences, which is odd since the car probably hasn't changed dimensions or structure since you purchased it. To each his own, though.
My current mindset is to drive mine until the wheels come off. After that, my old self will probably settle into a Camry or a nice used Lexus. That's well down the road of life, though. |
