I could be wrong (happens often) but I believe these numbers are the 'max' when paired with 'max' loads. Meaning our 4200lb pigs are only about half the weight of some of the bigger applications they go into, and even less when those bigger applications are towing/hauling something.

In lighter vehicles the forces stressing the pieces in the trans are far lower even with higher power/torque outputs, which is why it is not uncommon for well-tuned transmissions to last in our cars for a long time even at the 800hp/tq mark.
