How to turn off nannies

so to turn off the nannies last time i tried to do a burnout i just pressed the button twice and it said traction control off and stabilitrak competivive mode and it broke the rear diff. I have a warrenty and am getting it back tmrw with a new diff. It was an honest and stupid mistake i might have rev'd it too high but to turn the nannies off do I have to hold it the button or does pressing it twice do the same thing?

Is your car stock? What rpm did you let the clutch out? Did it wheel hop? Do you have drag radials? Any mods? A lot goes into the answer to that question.

its a stock 2012 2ss ls3 6spd with pirelli tires on the back. It did no wheel hop I just let off at 4500 rpm and the rear end completely let out which was making me think i didnt turn it completely off. I pressed the traction control button twice and both lights came on.

I really doubt traction control has anything to do with it blowing up.

I highly recommend watching Andrew's videos, you will learn a lot. Everyone knows how to break parts, his videos show you how not to.

This was probably a blessing in disguise. That rear was probably going to let go at some point and you just made it happen while you still had warranty.

The video when he hit oil has some real pucker factor… I was amazed that he didn’t pile it up way worse.
