I got this info on another thread from a camaro5 member who has insulated his trunk and passenger compartment. It's at: www.raammat.com- I'm getting the Raammat and Ensolite top layer (37.5 sq ft) for about $145.00 including UPS shipping from RAAMmat owner Rick. It should be here tomorrow Wednesday. I believe Dynamat is much more expensive and the "tar" based stuff some guys use from home depot can smell when it heats up.
Anyway- Check out Raamaudio site at: raammat.com site. I'm going to install this as soon as it warms up a little.

I just read this thread yesterday and my Magnaflow 16581 arrived today. Most of the welds look perfect, but I have the same hole on the same hanger. This is how it looked when I pulled it out of the box:

Don't install that one. Contact the person you bought it from and if they don't overnight it to you then you should call Magnaflow customer service. Hell....you should probalby call Magnaflow anyway so they can fire their Quality Control people.

I did not want the hassle of returning this one and waiting for a replacement. I took it to a local shop and they repaired the weld for $5 and it only took a few minutes. I will be installing the exhaust this evening. I will definately contact Magnaflow and share this picture with them. Especially knowing that mine was not the only one.

I supplied all packing/serial information and based on the call, I very seriously doubt any of you will ever have to deal with a sub par weld on a MagnaFlow part.

As the shop fixed the welds up on Saturday, so there was no need to replace the muffler, but it's confidence inspiring to know that Magnaflow was ready to replace immediately. Customer Service breeds customer loyalty...and they turned a negative into a positive...I am now a fan!

And as the days wear on...I'm liking the sound more and more....(and my wife says I'm nuts as, according to her, there is no drone)...
Alex,

I'm glad that everything is good now! I know Magnaflow takes these issues very seriously and like I told you I've never seen anything like this in the thousands of systems we've sold. Please feel free to call, email or PM me anytime with questions!!! Have a great evening and we'll talk to you soon!

PS Glad the wife is happy!!! I know how it is when they aren't!!

I contacted Magnaflow about your issue as well. I'm not sure who you purchased your system through but Magnaflow is aware of this 2nd issue. I know they are very serious about having the best exhaust systems on the market and I can assure you this won't be happening anymore.

We ONLY use and Sale Magnaflow products because they are the best systems on the market and they stand behind them 100%. I'm glad you were able to get it fixed for relatively cheap and if I can help you out in anyway please let me know!

Have a great day everyone!

Kind regards,

UPDATE:
After getting the hole repaired and installing the system last night, I am very pleased with the results. Adding the Magnaflow 16581 to the stock exhaust on my 2SS M6 resulted in a just slightly louder exhaust (but not too loud) and a much deeper tone. This is the exact sound I was hoping for. Now the only question is: how many days will my sound system remain turned off as I listen to the beautiful music this exhaust makes?

P.S. Thanks for reporting my issue Jordan!

Magnaflow Axle Back

I have this system with just under 2000 miles. Its getting a little louder, as I expected. No weld issues with mine. Easy install, instructions were spot on. I love mine, sounds great and not at all obnoxius.

I got a great deal at this location. $539 with tax and shipping.
