My brother and I were on our way to the track this Saturday and hit 270 kmh(about 170 MPH) and still had more left in it.

The photos posted of the cracked front fascia were of a pre-production car. Supposedly the fascia was strengthened because of this for the production vehicles...

I always forget to look at my speedometer, but I have hammered through the gears a couple of times.
When winter is over, and I drive it again, I will have to remember to look at the speedometer. |

164mph @ the standing mile several times, 178mph top speed so far (GPS verified) when I ran out of runway. Completely stable at those speeds (with Pfadt suspension btw).

186 mph @ 6300 rpm in 5th gear.(also GPS verified)
Drove very well, didn't get too light in the front, no wind noise, etc. I have the GM GFX also on my car, so that probably helps also. The Camaro is very aerodynamic, contrary to what alot of people seem to think. The drag coefficient is .37 without the gfx. The Mustang drag coefficient is .46, now that's like an anchor.

Most any GPS has a top speed function, at least all the garmin models do...

FYI the tires are rated to 186 not 155....BMW and Mercedes have been limiting most of their vehicles to 155 in the past as well...with higher rated tires...still makes no sense to me...

All German made cars (except Porsche) signed an agreement many years ago that they would limit their cars to 155mph. Reason for this was that the government wanted to remove the no speeding limit on all highways since cars were getting faster and faster, but then the manufacturers set the limiter instead and the law was never passed

There is way to much traffic today, but in the late 80s I could get on the eway and burry the speedo in my 79 Aro and had all the room needed to be so dangerous. Now, I can barley do the speed limit. |
